Garbage DSE cigalikes four years ago. Vision Spinner and some clearos a few months ago. Vamo V2 and my first RBAs and RDAs two months ago Mechs and nothing but RBAs and RDAs now, mostly SLR (below 1.2 ohms). -

Actually the spring is part of the conductive circuit. The battery comes into contact with the cup, the cup is connected to the button, but the circuit isn't complete until it reaches the outside of the mod itself. This is why some people were having misfires unless they pushed the button... -

Why put a magnet back in it? It's not near as good a conductor as brass, copper or aluminum and actually does *nothing* in this mod except to touch the bottom of the battery. AND you will have to glue it back in (brass is non-magnetic). Screwing the mod together is what brings the battery... -

For a regulated mod I would say the Vamo should fit the bill. Cheap, capable, relatively well built. It has no competition in it's price range, IMHO. -

What ohms are your RBA reading? You know that the vamo will read below 1.2 ohms even if it won't fire it, right? ;) I run Panny CGR18650CH 2250mah in a vamo and a couple of mechs. I have Efest IMR 18350s too but don't use them enough to track how long they last. I also have a Nitecore 4 bay... -

The Paladin has wires in it. It's not a matter of repairing wires, it's the added complexity of the device that keeps me away from such a device. Further the extra wires, solder joints, etc. may all contribute to limiting the capability of the mod as well as possibly introducing extra voltage... -

I love the Panny CGR18650CH. That's a tough battery to beat at any price. IMR hybrid = "safer chemistry", also "high drain", which is essential in a mech at low ohms. Read some more on the NCR before you spend the extra cash. Search the forums, it's out there. Do NOT put protected... -
