    New to me Provari!

Congrats on landing such a smoking deal! I'll trade you a Provari for that Nzonic you have coming ;)

Provari - initial thoughts vs Ego

Hey, whatever keeps you off the stinkies! :) I actually prefer pure mechanicals and fat, juicy SLR coils now... but like I said: Try what I did. Take the *same* battery and *same* atty, put them in your provari, set it for 4.0 volts (or whatever), have a friend who doesn't vape listen to...

    Sigelei Mechnical Mods

Sanded it down, then what? If you didn't get the pin sanded flat it will make a difference how much of it is contacting the center post. I have never had a hot button issue with this model but I notice sometimes if it seems weak on a button press it helps to just spin the button a quarter turn...

MODS: Yet another request for an APV sub-forum

I've looked at a few groups. I have yet to see a single example of a link and/or inline photo being used in any of them. Might just be the ones I looked at but no go. Thanks for your attention and any assistance you might provide! :)

Help I cant find the $27 Fasttech Vamo V2 The price wont go down ?

As others have said, it's a real vamo v2. The worst part is the waiting. Don't skimp on batteries and charger either! That kit with the Pannies and I2 charger is the best deal on the planet for a solid, Vamo starter kit... without a doubt.

Sigelei #19 Tips, tricks, and DON'Ts

A-HA! I was composing that last post and the answer literally jumped off my desk in front of me! This is a quick and dirty *potential* replacement for that bottom delrin cup! A juice bottle cap, cut off, should do the trick. This is the one that I had right in front of me, very common with...

Sigelei #19 Tips, tricks, and DON'Ts

Nice! I'm curious how you got those washers to stay in there? Look back at my "Tip" post if you want to know how I got my sheared off magnet out of there. ;) Really the only important part of that delrin is the very top most ring of it. This keeps the bottom of the battery from making...

MODS: Yet another request for an APV sub-forum

I understand. So multiple users *can* post links and inline photos in a single thread, in a social group? Is there anywhere I can look at a detailed comparison between a social group and a forum? What are the advantages and disadvantages of both? Thanks in advance.

MODS: Yet another request for an APV sub-forum

Being able to post photos in threads relevant to specific models is also important. I'm not sure you can add inline photos to a social group. These "affordable" mechanical mod threads aren't just about fanboys showing off... it's a new extension to the hobby with lots of tinkerers involved...

MODS: Yet another request for an APV sub-forum

+1 THIS. Exactly! Here is the main Sigelei thread, only as an example. 160+ pages in a month and a half. At least six different models are being discussed in this thread alone and it's getting difficult to tell posts about one model to the next, even for those of us that have been there...

Provari - initial thoughts vs Ego

Yeah, me too. "Does the ProVari use PWM? (pulse-width modulation) Yes, the ProVari is using PWM technology." From the provape page: Frequently Asked Questions ;) I'm still curious how 33 Hz PWM "sucks", as you so eloquently put it? Does the coil on such a device pulse like a strobe light...

I've thought that too but as long as you are looking at rod stock consider aluminum and copper as well. Both are much more conductive than brass.

Find me an 18350 mech mod

These are (from left to right) my Vamo V2, Sigelei #19 and Sigelei #8, all in 18350 mode, with an 18650 for comparison:

Find me an 18350 mech mod

Sigelei #8 is my recommendation. Beautiful, well constructed, heavy stainless steel. Works great out of the box and it takes 30 seconds with a bit of sandpaper to make it even better. Oh, and you can find them in the states for less than $30 ;)...

Provari - initial thoughts vs Ego

The Provari also uses PWM. How could 33 times a second suck at anything? Further dampened by the laws of thermodynamics I bet you couldn't tell the difference between a glowing coil at 33.3 Hz PWM and the same coil glowing on top of a pure voltage mech. This urban legend is just a pet peeve...

Sigelei #19 Tips, tricks, and DON'Ts

Yeah, I've been thinking in this direction too. Actually the only part that needs to be delrin, or non-conductive anyway, is just an o-ring between the battery and the switch to keep the battery from grounding out. The rest of the switch could be solid metal and it wouldn't make a bit of...

Sigelei #19 Tips, tricks, and DON'Ts

Still haven't been able to source *any* piece of plastic that might thread in place of that delrin bit, with a sealed end I could drill a hole in for the brass button shaft. Picked up quite the assortment of nylon washers and such and one rubber plug I thought might work but in the end redid my...
