    Indulgence Safety

So I now have three faulty chargers?? Brilliant. One dies in action and the other two are DOA! I shall check the charge voltage under load - if indeed there is one - and get back to you, but at this point, I'm less than happy.

    Exploding mods: the feedback thread

What this thread highlights is exactly why regulators want to get involved, what they see as "abuse" of e-cigs (6v systems with 150mg juice, anybody??) and the whole legal tangle that ECF may have unleashed upon itself. Firstly, if ECF is "approving" suppliers, they are tacitly adopting a...

    Exploding mods: the feedback thread

I would suggest that folks look at what steps laptop, mobile phone and similar device manufacturers take to safeguard their consumers from what can be a difficult technology: The full article is at Howstuffworks "How Lithium-ion Batteries Work" As e-cigs and mods are all about heat...

    Indulgence Safety

I'll say it again - end voltage for that battery is 3.2 volts, not the 4.2 volts the charger is expecting. Therefore, the charger does not stop the charge at the 3.2 volt end voltage that it should, but continues to trickle charge. If the protection circuit is cutting in to open circuit the...

    Indulgence Safety

Di, those chargers are not correctly specified for the 3v protected LiFePos - their end voltage is too high at 4.2 volts, and the LiFePos, even after 8 hours, do not show a green "charged" LED. Protected cells or not, this is not a good situation.

    UK consumer law on attys?

The crux is how the item is described. DOA is certainly a replacement/refund event. However, if the vendor describes the atty as being "consumable" - that is, prone to failure in a relatively short span of time (as in it is generally recognised that an atty has a useful life of less than two...

EM should be back up and running...

Mustard mitt, I was hoping that the Obsession might have made an appearance by now. Just out of curiosity, you understand. And now we have new adaptor rings for the Indulgence. I hope David sends a set out with my shipment...

From CNN.com Today/Eissenberg study with feedback

No, but it does put into perspective what I wrote in my first posting on this - with the greatest respect, you had no idea what you were dealing with, and no idea how to use them. As you have now discovered, e-cigs do, indeed, provide nicotine, and, no matter what the caveats and limits, your...

A charging question for Di - and others

Righty-ho - here's what I've done.... I ave a Tenergy 3v charger for 2x3v RCR123A types. The EM batteries are just small enough to fit into the Tenergy charger if, and only if, you take a pair of pliers to the negative contacts and flatten them back so that only the little buttony bits are...

From CNN.com Today/Eissenberg study with feedback

Well, effectively, Dr. Tom's study has been reviewed - perhaps not exactly peer-reviewed, but reviewed it most certainly has been. And that review has found shortcomings in the methodology that point to a pressing need for further study with a modified methodology in order to achieve less biased...

A charging question for Di - and others

This is the bit I've been referring to all the way through - that charger has no explicit 3v setting, and it looks as though EM is saying you can use a 3.6v charger and let the PCB take the strain for a charge. I do, though, need that confirmed (not that I can test it on the charger that came...

What's David providing for charging the 3v jobbies, then? (like I say, if one had arrived, I'd have known).

Intellicig response to HM Government proposals

It took J&J seven years to get the Nicorette an MA. If Intellicig throw in the towel now, don't expect to see any nic bearing juice on the market for an awful long time. I've run the scenarios, and it's true to say that first to market in a MA required world gets to rule the roost and rake in...

Intellicig response to HM Government proposals

Nope - it means that, instead of clearing the shelves of all current nicotine-bearing e-juices by 21/06/10, they'll give us a year or so to get some approved before they clear the shelves. If none gets approved, they still clear the shelves.. That simple - and the onus of proof is on the...
