    The whole purpose of the genesis was to avoid using cotton or silica,try a few wicks using just ss. It may take a few tries but you'll get it. Good luck.

    After trying the 500 I went back to 400.I didn't notice much difference in wicking or vapor but slightly less flavor with the 500. I did notice it's much easier to get the dreaded top leg hot spot with the 500. I now use Osturmo's recommended set up and everything works really well.

    I've got a 400 wick I've been using over 10months,never cleaned it.My 32ga. coils usually last 2-4 weeks but at a nickel apiece and 3minutes to wrap them it's not worth the the time or money to clean them.
