Sigelei #19 Tips, tricks, and DON'Ts

Absolutely gorgeous Bap :w00t: Nice work ..makes me want to go out & buy a mini-lathe. It has a lot of the "Caravela" look to it - a "Bapavella"! :)

From my experience, Simichrome has a little better cutting power for a final polish, but breaks down very fast so it doesn't leave any fine scratches. It's basically Red Rouge in some kind of suspension media. I've used it extensively for brass, nickel & chrome since the early sixties and love...

Sigelei #19 Tips, tricks, and DON'Ts

Just leave it in.....I've left them alone in all three of mine. They have very little resistance anyway (I measure < .1Ω through the magnet on all of them), so just polish them up & you're good to go. The copper-wire mod (or one of the other mods to get better electrical contact between the...

They look nice brushed like that, but brass will tarnish pretty quickly, especially when you handle it a lot. There are a few tricks to keep it looking nice though. I buff mine out first with a Dremel with a felt wheel using white rouge, then finish it with Simicrome polish. A little time & it...

Kick clone aka Sigelei K show and tell

    I'm running mine with 1.2 & 1.3 Ω coils without a hitch.....but they don't seem to like anything less than that. I tried a 1.0 Ω and it wouldn't fire. YMMV

Sigelei #19 Tips, tricks, and DON'Ts

You might check out a local small machine shop - take your Nzonic head with you so they can take the thread dimensions from it (internal & external threads) and have them make one up for you - it's only a small disk of metal. They could probably use a piece of scrap they would have laying around...

Sigelei #19 Tips, tricks, and DON'Ts

The magnet isn't the problem - it's the bottom spring not making a solid ground when you fire the mod. The quick fix is to either stretch the spring slightly, or open up the bottom coils so they fit firmly against the body of the mod. There are quite a few other fixes to improve it further if...

Hmmmm... are you saying with the #19e/Nzonic that the head is Brass plated??? I thought it was supposed to be machined from solid Brass like the rest of the mod.... if it's just plated, I will be very disappointed!

Sigelei #19 Tips, tricks, and DON'Ts

We've had two members that have used Hoppe's #9 (gun solvent) and said it works to get the button off. I think they said it only required about a 20-30 minute soak. You should be able to find it in any sporting goods store that sells gun supplies (or even Wal-mart). Good stuff.....and the smell...

Nice job with the adapter! I'm assuming they are metric threads. I don't have a die large enough to handle the OD :(

Sorry...it was Vaportek, but he only had a few, and I think they might already be gone. He mentioned that he got a couple in on a Facebook Co-op page this morning & I jumped on it right away. I'll post pictures as soon as I get it.....they should be getting more in shortly.

I'm in the same boat.. I'm in love with the 19s... Even though I already have a 19a & a 19e, I found out they had a few Brass #19e with Brass Nzonic heads in stock... ....it will be here Saturday

Sigelei #19 Tips, tricks, and DON'Ts

Looks good! My only suggestion is to use a small bit of copper wire around the base of the switch housing and the brass center post to increase conductivity when you fire the mod. It doesn't need to be fancy, just so they are connected, but still allow the center post to move freely. Gdeal...

    Pipe tobacco and Cigar extraction

Actually, coffee, chocolate & tobacco flavors get BETTER over time. If you vape them too early , they will taste pretty flat. It takes time for the flavors to work their way into the carriers (VG/PG) before they really start to mature and start tasting right. The shelf-life of most juices is...

Speaking of fire-button issues... I tripped over this video on YouTube for a replacement button for the #6 Telescope. Sigelei #19 Tips, tricks, and DON'Ts

Just do the copper wire mod, or stretch the spring, or open up the bottom of it so that it makes better contact with the body of the mod. It will fire 100% and voltage drop should stabilize. They are all simple to do (once you get the switch apart), and make a world of difference. Have fun
