The Next Big thing.... Porous Ceramic Wicks

Ok...my guess; It looks identical to an Arkansas Sharpening Stone (Silicon Quartz) ...though it would have to be a pretty large grit.

    fc-2000 porous ceramic wick

Well, after seeing the results of Dan's cross-cut wick (slotted) I just had to tear down my RSST & give it a try. I have the 3.2mm bushing back in & built a 1/8 fishstick, and tried to cut three slots - no dice (how the hell did he do that??). Ended up cutting just two slots about 90 degrees...

    fc-2000 porous ceramic wick

I've got two of the identical DID clones & bored them to 1/8 as well. A drill press makes life a lot easier for this kind of stuff - even the cheapo type you clamp your existing drill into. The decks on these are just plated brass, so they are very easy to drill out. The clearances are pretty...

    fc-2000 porous ceramic wick

If it were mine, I'd just take it out to a diameter that will not interfere with the tank or the center post (probably 1/8 if you are careful), and then just make the hole slightly oval in shape by rocking the drill bit, or preferably, with a Dremel (toward the sides where you have room). I've...

    fc-2000 porous ceramic wick

That's the problem with a lot of DID/Cobra clones....you never really know what you will get. If you look on Ali Baba - there are literally hundreds of different "Stainless Steel" clones being manufactured in China....they all look similar, but there are many slight variations, and the quality...

    New Survey of Vapors

Done. Looks like the questions were pretty well thought out without the usual bias'..... it will be interesting to see what they do with the data....

    I actually love...

Welcome guys (or gals?). Setting up coils in RBAs is not that difficult - It just takes a little practice....soon you will be able to wrap coils in your sleep :)

    fc-2000 porous ceramic wick

Yep - there's a guy here in Florida who sells a Cobra clone in Stainless steel. I believe its about 5/8" in diameter. I don't have one myself , but I've been in his shop & I saw it first hand and it looks pretty good...price its right also. I don't really know if it can be drilled out to 1/8...

    fc-2000 porous ceramic wick

Just another vote for the 1/8 inch wicks here. After making a couple of mega-wicks of various configurations with my RSST (5mm+ wick hole), I've put the bushing back in & I'm now running a 1/8 inch ceramic again. Even with the bushing back in - the wick hole is still around 3.5 mm, so a 1/8 inch...

    My Boba's clone

Just a comment and a quick tip: DON'T throw away a new juice for at least a month or so after you buy it... Many juices don't taste that great right out of the mailer. Many are somewhat "perfumy", vile, or even have no flavor at all, but change over time, especially chocolate & tobacco flavors...

Can't seem to go much higher than 3.7v

Bobas is 100% VG, and just about the thickest juice available....not sure about the Snickerdoodle - depends on who made it - if it's Alien Visions, it's also 100% VG. Vivi Novas are great (I have a bunch if them myself), but they don't feed thicker juices well (no "top-feeder" does)...even...

    fc-2000 porous ceramic wick

Looks interesting.....'gonna have to try this on the next one I make...getting tired of the break-in time. Thanks!

A set of side-cutters (wire cutters) works perfectly.

    fc-2000 porous ceramic wick

Yep..the bushing goes right back in the RSST as long as you didn't deform it too badly when you took it out originally...just need to line it up straight & give it a few gentle taps with a small hammer. I just popped mine back in yesterday to play with some smaller (1/8 inch) wicks to see if I...

    fc-2000 porous ceramic wick

+ 1 on the VAMO...biggest bang for the buck out there right now (IMHO). I love its flexibility (VV VW, RMS, etc) runs 510 & even the EGo carts without any adapters. Runs any combination of batteries you want also. Its my go-to MOD for experimenting with various RBA/coils/etc.

They really screw ya if you don't DIY juice.

Though I DIY a majority of my juices, there are some I just have never been able to duplicate. Boba's & Gorilla Juice being two of them... I've been trying to get screwed by Alien Visions for days now (almost out again).... no joy. :(

They really screw ya if you don't DIY juice.

Well, obviously Mr Fennel, you've never run a small business. I'm afraid you really don't have a clue about whats involved. Here's a suggestion; since you seem to think that we're all being "screwed" by all these juice vendors - go ahead and do your own start-up & you can be a millionaire too...

    fc-2000 porous ceramic wick

Congrats on joining the Fishy-wickers (is that a word?). Anyway, when I'm breaking in a new ceramic, I just start @ about 3.3 volts/6.5 watts for an hour or so trying to keep the wick as wet as possible (tilt it a lot). I slowly increase the wattage a little at a time over the next day or so...

The Next Big thing.... Porous Ceramic Wicks

The ceramics don't give you the same throat hit that the Stainless wicks do, they are much smoother (some people actually think that's an advantage), but they seem to deliver more nic...it's an odd dichotomy. Increasing the % of PG in your juice a bit will give you more TH, but you can also...
