The Next Big thing.... Porous Ceramic Wicks
Theoretically, you could just remove the entire wick/coil assembly and clean them & re-install, but getting them both equally clean would be a challenge (dissimilar materials). I have an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner that I use for making my DIY juices, and it should work as a wick/coil cleaner...- NamVet68

I've got two set up so far (A DID clone with 1/8 wick & an AGA-T2 drilled to accept 1/8 wick - both using 30ga)....both were very muted at first & had kind of a "concrete" flavor. It took a full tank, or a little more until the flavors started to really come through, but both are now getting...- NamVet68

Another new RBA (SMOKtech RSST - AC9 clone) and another SMOKtech Natural Mechanical mod (to replace the one I lost over the weekend), plus some batteries, drip tips, Kanthal wire, and other odds & ends..... After the success of the 1/8 fishstick in my drilled mini-DID I posted earlier (getting better every tankful BTW), I got to thinking that this might be the way to go - however - my AGA-T2 is already drilled to 1/8, and can't be drilled larger because of lack of room (already cut into the center...- NamVet68

As others have said - hot spot is culprit #1 ...(also if you get a metallic taste - make sure you don't have two wires touching) Another often overlooked problem on an RBA that causes higher throat hit is lining up the air hole - line the air hole up directly with the wick and you will get...- NamVet68

Vap; I drilled my DID clone out to 1/8 - no problem....easier than on my AGA-T2. I put up pics of it a few posts back.... EDIT ... I guess you saw it :) It seems to be breaking in faster than the other one - but I'm not using 100% VG in this one, so that makes sense..... It's already better...- NamVet68

OK...since it seems that its show & tell; Here's my project for today; I drilled out the wick hole on an old DID clone to 1/8 inch & made a fishstick for it. I actually had more room to drill on this little puppy than I did for my AGA-T2. The 1/8 hole in the AGA almost cut into the center post...- NamVet68
