There's a "Sweet Spot" with the Ithakas when it comes to juice control - if you over-juice them, you will loose vapor & flavor - you are flooding the coil & cuts its efficiency and ability to produce vapor (flavor). Yes...partially. You should be able to adjust the juice control at any time, even after its fully assembled.... unless you tightened it down too much. The mouthpiece should just be run down to the point where it comes into contact with the ring that holds the ceramic cup assembly, not cranked...- NamVet68

I had the same problem until I started using syringe filters after the cotton-ball filtration (forgot to mention that step)...they get the particulate matter out & help with coil-gunking a lot. Amazon has them (I use the .2 um size, but that's probably over-kill, the .45 would work fine also) ...- NamVet68

I know that the switch from an 8W & the #29 are direct replacements & there may be others - most of Sigelei's Telescopes have the same threading. I think there are a couple of aftermarket switches available from the Philippines if you can find them....look on Youtube.
