I get a lot of looks from young kids/teens and that does kind of make me feel bad. Don't want them thinking Im doing something else, at the same time Im not going to explain the virtues of vaping to someone underage!!!
Thanks Jonathon....the waiting to boil the yard is killing. I am actually working from home myself today (over here and coil building as I am checking in or waiting for pages to load etc) LOL
Ok I don't have anything but the peaches and cream yarn right now to test this. (I believe I need to boil it first-which means I will have to wait to test this) Or maybe some wick from an iClear?
Ok I have it up to 1.8 but one side isn't turning red as fast as the rest. I will try to post a picture here in a sec (new laptop and haven't used the camera before)
When using a lighter to "bur off junk" should it turn the wire black? The black seems to wipe right off. Also, I am wrapping one but the coils don't want to stay close together? (Sure seems easier in the videos LOL)
And what would be the safest ohms reading or starting out? Like 1.2 -1.4 ohms? Just wondering how I know if its safe to actually use?
Also, once you have a good one made, do you just replace the cotton? or do you replace the whole thing?
Rather than high jacking this thread further, I created a new thread with some questions on RBAs if anyone can help with some questions:

I have been reading and watching videos till my head is spinning!!
Hello! I am reading through all the posts on building coils and am feeling very intimidated. I have a few questions:
1) What safety issues should I be aware of? I hear things here there to watch for such as: Don't fire your coil with dry cotton; don't touch coil to any metal; don't touch...
Just heard about a new ego type battery with Blue Tooth abilities. It has the ability to play music or connect to your phone hmmmmmmm interesting idea!
My egos tend to last anywhere from 5 months to over a year and it seems to be based on the individual batteries not so much where they are from or how much used. I use mine ALOT and toss them into my purse etc....pretty hardy lil things. I am curious when you mentioned you have tried 5 different...
Virgin Vapor and Free State Vapor are both diacetyl free-I've confirmed..and I believe it states it on their websites. However, in what I have been reading about this....there are many other things that can break down and become diacetryl....and that isn't often addressed by vendors.
In looking at their page, I see another mention of diacetyl.....and the many substitutes that e liquids may contain. There is a massive thread on ECF in the DIY section on this....and its kind of scary to read. Anyone else have thoughts on this? (stating diacetyl or equivalents can cause...
Ugh so trying to view youtube videos and getting the green screen with sound....trying to update adobe...I swear I WILL figure out how to make a coil!!!
So I had to make a stop at Walmart-no sterile cotton roll....only gauze. SO I remembered someone saying something about Peaches and Cream yarn? Picked some up just in case that would work for making a coil? Otherwise I am working from home tomorrow-and will try and order some online. Also hoping...
So this is just the rolls of gauze? Like for bandages? Also did you see my post last night about the type of wire I have? Will that work? Kanthal wire one is round I think 32 gauge? And the other was a flat wire. This is actually starting to interest me! I will plan on watching some videos after...
