    Yes, along with an alternative shorter battery so the overall length remains the same, so it can still be charged in the PCC without disassembly. I personally think it'd feel more balanced this way too (it's end-heavy now, which makes it more difficult to dangle from the lips).

    No, counterfeiters take rejected parts that already have legitimate serial numbers. They just don't throw them away and instead sell them.

    They do it for $20 (our price) SD cards, so I imagine it happens for this stuff too. The scratch code isn't an extra step. It's produced at the same time as the part. The extra step is discarding it. It's cheaper to keep it and just re-reroute it than it is to throw it away ultimately.

    Mine is an early one without the notches (ordered from China before the JOYE-branded ones were here in the US) and it only leaks when placed in the PCC. If I rest it in the PCC like it's an ashtray, it will never leak.
