How dangerous is Diacetyl in Ejuice

You know percentages of an impurity aren't like placing odds on a horse race right?

    Salt?

Look at the ingredients, there may be some salt in there. Candy makers use Citric, Malic and Tartaric quite a bit, they are really the three most prevalent naturally occuring acids in most fruits. All acids generally are descibed as sour tasting, Citric tends to give you more 'sour' where...

    Salt?

That's incredibly terrible logic. Citric acid is a very common food additive, it's a natural acid that is in many many different fruits, namely citrus fruits hence the name. Injecting it, or eating it are different delivery methods than inhaling it. It's well known that many acid vapors are very...

after extraction, what should be the next step?

No ethanol has the lowest boiling point out of the group (of Water, PG and VG) so it will be the first thing to boil off. I'd suggest trying to vape it straight first, then adding some VG if it doesn't vape to thicken it. Due to the PG and VG in the solution the boiling point will probably be...

How dangerous is Diacetyl in Ejuice

I think the point Kurt made in the VPLive episode is important to point out again. It has been found that there are still trace amounts of Diacetyl in 'Diacetyl free' flavorings. So the vendors buying their flavorings and making liquid may think it's Diacetyl free when it really isn't.

No it WILL effect you, it MAY not effect to a noticable degree, it MAY not effect you that you'll wind up needing a lung transplant

How dangerous is Diacetyl in Ejuice

AFAIK there's no cheap way to test for Diacetyl. Even with the proper equipment it's not an east test. It's quite possible you could find a lab that could test, but I doubt you'd want to pay for it for your own purposes. In the VP video Kurt gives a very detailed explanation it. It does not...

How dangerous is Diacetyl in Ejuice

Pretty much, Kurt talked about tests being done on some of the diacetyl substitues where diacetyl was still found. He wouldn't say who the manufacturer was, an I understand his reasoning. Chances are this is not the flavor manufacturers impurity and may be a problem that exists in many flavors...

after extraction, what should be the next step?

20% of the final extraction if the Ethanol is 190 proof. Even that high it might not vape well, I'd imagine if it was vodka (80-100) proof it might be too much water to vape at all.

How dangerous is Diacetyl in Ejuice

It causes permanent irreversible damage to your lungs in any amount. Even Diacetyl substitutes have been found to have trace amounts. I don't vape anything with a butter, ice cream, or custard flavor, and even at that I'm still a bit uncomfortable. If you watch this episode of vapelink they get...

after extraction, what should be the next step?

I'm not sure I follow you, I was asking what ratio of Ethanol, PG and VG you mixed together to make your extraction solvent. The solid fruit in your extraction isn't really important. If your Ethanol was above 20%, you'll either have to cook it off or add more PG, or more VG to bring it's levels...

    Revolver iGO/808 Battery

Ok so I finally got around to doing some tests on LR heads. I tested two > 2.6-ohms to make sure the numbers were on par with my earlier test. I ran through the marked settings 3.3, 3.8, 4.3, and 4.8-V with 3.2, 2.7, 1.7, and 1.5 ohm heads. With the 1.7-ohm head the voltage was consistent...

    Revolver iGO/808 Battery

I'll have to test it, I initially read directly from the battery, but once I built my test rig to measure while vaping I never saw it above 3.7. I can't promise I ever tried it on a full charge. ... Just realized my X2 is fully charged, so I tested it. -- no head: 4.23-V -- 2.5-ohm: 3.98-V...

after extraction, what should be the next step?

OP = Original Poster = you = kurtcobain13. If your orignal blend was under 20% Ethanol, I'd suggest starting out by simply dripping some of it at full strength and tasting it.

    Revolver iGO/808 Battery

The X2 comes off at 4.2-V with no load, but in reality it drops to 3.7-V when you actually are vaping. So it never gives a true 4.2 Yes any of the iGo stuff will work with anything SI sells. I just realized the twist has that charge level indicator yesterday. I don't own a twist so I don't...

after extraction, what should be the next step?

You can do both, I wouldn't advise it with vodka, because the water isn't going to help things out. But you can boil off the alcohol. I wouldn't advise it, because the Boiling point will be pretty damn high due to the PG and VG and chances are you're extracted flavors will end up tasting cooked...

    Salt?

Personally I'll only use vinegar. It's acid is acetic acid which is a volatile acid, that's why it's so fragrant because it evaporates at a low temperature. I know there are some doubts about the safety of vaping Citric acid. But I've basically been inhaling vinegar all my life as have most of...

    Revolver iGO/808 Battery

Ok, there's definitley confusion about the sizes here. My iGo is 16-mm in diameter, which is about 5/8", my Volt is about 14-mm in diameter or about 17/32" The reason I figured the iGo was a spinner clone rather than an ego twist was the 1300-mah and the larger diameter. Can anyone else...
