    The reason you're seeing a lot of boxy stuff now is because it is more compact form factor. You can have the battery alongside the electronics instead of stacked in a tube. The other nice thing is that your gear doesn't roll of the table which used to happen all the time with tube mods.

    These days I would take a hard look at the Sigelei 100+ and the Sigelei 150 which offer better build quality than the IPVs in my opinion. If you go that route, I would just pick up some Sony VCT series batteries from Susan's links above ^^^. You can do pretty well with the Samsung 25R battery...
