Smoktech Vmax Owners - tips, tricks and quirks

Under $71 delivered has to be the best deal going. The best I've seen from a Co-op is $63 with an unknown waiting period. I waited over six weeks, hardly worth a $8 savings. Errol

    Variable Volt Gripper

Unless you are mixing some pretty exotic Niquid you don't have to worry about it melting Deb. :) Doesn't have to be Saran Wrap, any kind pliable plastic sheeting will do, you just want to protect the area of the threading and the cracks on either side long enough to wipe off any liquid that may...

    VV Gripper by SmokTech Review

IMO you get a better deal with the Gripper than the SmokeBox. If you do get the kit from MV you'll want to get one of these Assembled Volt Indicator. Assembled Volt Indicator, Rev 2 If you want to build one a little more elaborate this thread has a lot of ideas...

Another party had bad threads in his APV and we were able to solve it via PMs. I'll PM you the discussion. Errol

    Variable Volt Gripper

I have ruined one clam-shell VV APV because my cartos leaked into the electronics. What I've done with a replacement is use a short plugged 510 extension, poked the threaded end though a small piece of Saran Wrap, screw it into the PV and essentially create an umbrella to catch any juice before...

Good chance! :) They will both do the job for you though the TrustFire TR-003P4 is a nicer looking unit and will handle four batteries for the same price. I have a two battery Trustfire that has served me well for over a year so I feel comfortable with the brand. There has been a great deal...

    VV Gripper by SmokTech Review

Wouldn't be surprised if someone comes up with a hybrid dripping atty with a measured on demand pressurized drip suitable for mass production. :) Edit: FWIW I have over a dozen VV units including the VMax and my main go to units are the VV eGo and Twist along with the 5v Woo. I realize I've...

Use any adapter you like but I'd do it soon while you still have threads to hold it in. At this point the only reason for an adapter is to protect whatever threads you have left. It will have no effect on your vaping except to make sure you can continue vaping with that particular PV. :) I'll PM...

(Genesis style)Smoktech VIVI TANK rebuildable atomizer

To me the mesh wick looks like a great deal of effort and practice to get it right and if it's the same or only marginally better than something like yours it doesn't seem like it's worth the effort. Until I get some supplies to mod the coil and wick I'm having pretty good luck just dripping up...

Did you ruin the threads on your PV? If so wonders can be done with a short 510 extension and some fine wire. If you like I can send you some instructions posted by another party with bad APV threads. Errol

I'm curious Craig, how does your wicking compare to mesh wicks like TommyG's in post#87? Errol

    VV Gripper by SmokTech Review

Good point, :) though there was a time I would have bought the least expensive Provari if it hadn't been for the single button menu. It just seems silly that one has to feel like they are sending a text message on a miniature keyboard to change the voltage or check the ohms or whatever else they...

    VV Gripper by SmokTech Review

That really isn't the point, I have over a dozen APVs that will do a fine job of vaping including a couple of 3amp units. For me at least, the point is I want a 4amp unit whether I need it or not, and the Gripper was advertised as a 4amp unit. That was the only reason I bought another APV that I...

    Variable Volt Gripper

I ended up using 18340 batteries in my V8, the 350s were just too tight getting in and out and I was concerned I would end up breaking it. Really like the layout and the readout on the Gripper but I have a problem with it. Have had a ticket in for a refund since last week but no response...

    Variable Volt Gripper

Hi Tex. I have the same problem with the Gripper as with the V8 except the Gripper has a wider gap at the hing end of the battery door so I can use a dull kitchen knife to gently wedge the battery door open with no harm to the door or body. Errol
