Hi Cyrus, I've had a MV Box Mod with display for several months and it hasn't given me any problems of heating up but I usaully have it set in the 5v range. I can imagine it getting warm at 4v or less due to the heat from regulating the voltage down to that level. Just tested mine at 3v and it...
Hi again Rachel,
LavaTube versions as I understand them. V1=2.5amp, V1.5=3amp, and V2=4amp
All of the Varitubes (LavaTubes) listed on this page at IVape are V1 2.5amp=12watts except the Varitube X that is V2 at 4amps. As far as I can see they don't list a V1.5...
You lost me on that one Rachel! :) I found the "version 2.0" on the IVape site but what site did you see V3 listed, all I've seen listed at any site is V2? I'm hoping V3 will be the one with the eGo threading.

I'm pretty sure the V3 will be just as sealed as previous models, they just streamlined it with a metal head and did away with the moat (dripwell) around the threads. https://ivape.net/index.php/The-Varitube-X-Silver.html?keyword=varitube

The LT is 3oz with battery and the VariStack is 2.3oz with batteries.
The vendors say it's 2amp but the testing I've done indicates it's much closer to 2.5amp, same as the V1 LT and I can assure you it beats the LT hands down for comfort.
I have a mini review on the Vendors site that explains...
I will be trying the chainsaw file mod to see if that contributes to my vaping experience with the 1.5ml units. If I can get one to work like an auto drip atty I'll be a happy camper.
That was one of my projects sometime back, that is to make an auto drip with a bridgless 901 atty and it was...
Hi Samsun, Yes I have taken some apart and the coils have been ok. These units when working properly appear to work like an auto feed atty, now if I can just get mine feeding properly I'll be happy as part of my vaping pleasure is atty dripping but it can be messy and a nuisance.
Have cut one...
I'm guessing this was in response to my post. FWIW I've read every post in the forum and tried many of the fixes others have suggested to no avail. I'm aware many are thrilled with the phoenix right out of the box but there are also many who are having problems, hence the modding.
My post was a...
Here is a link to some $20 units.
VariStack Variable Voltage Mod
It appears the Ovale V8 Incremental VV Body is just as handy and probably more attractive for some.

I was ready to pull the trigger on a Provari after watching Phil's review as when all is said and done it probably is the best unit available. My one major complaint that changed my mind is the similarity to texting on a miniature keyboard just to set the voltage. Same complaint on the VMax but...
I think your conclusions are far closer to being correct than what I had concluded. Probably the biggest problem I'm having with the V1.5 LT is I don't seem able to get a comparable vape at any setting when compared with my cheap Mad Vapes box mods that I know are correct as all three of mine...
Your understanding is correct however after reading Carltons comments I'm not sure my VOM is giving me good information due to the PWM circuitry. At this point all I'm reasonably certain of is the 4.9V max on the Echo when set at 6v (12.6watts 2.57amp). On the V1 LT 4.5v (10.7watts 2.37amp)...
You will get the scrambled reading on most, if not all regulated batteries, and many of the VV units though not all. I even get a scrambled reading on my Passthru unit. If you get a scrambled reading the next step is an adapter and a VOM. :)

This is in response to a brief exchange we had earlier about the V1.5 LT. I got my replacement and ran it through a battery of under load tests and found it to be lacking. It's been my understanding that it is a 3 to 3.2 amp unit but the very best I could get out of it was 2.7A amp...
Until just recently I've had no satisfaction from the Phoenix, couldn't tell any difference between them and the CE3 XLs I had bought previously and found disappointing. Had to wonder why some were having success and other, the opposite. Finally occurred to me that the draw might be part of it...
This won't add anything to solving the mystery but there is a review at Vaping Guide that has a nice picture of the eGo type connection with the flexible spring loaded center pin. Chrome Lavatube Review | Vaping Guides to the Electronic Cigarette
Glad you've brought all this out as I'm going to...
Probably several of the clearo tanks that would benefit from something like this. Appears they could be ideal for the Vivi Nova with the separate coil head that appears to be natural for such a mod. Guess it all comes down to how easy it is to make electrical connections, something I've never...
One can't talk about VV units without mentioning the MadVapes VV Box Mod. It will do everything as well as the most expensive VV unit available. The only drawbacks is it's homely and a nuisance to adjust the voltage with a screw driver. One of mine is nearly a year old with no problems, all have...
What is this "Lambo" style eGo connector? I've never heard of it and have not idea what it is. :) A link with a picture for clarification would be appreciated but not required. :)
