Here's P.Busardo's video on rebuilding vivis.
A PBusardo Tutorial - Vivi Nova Cleaning & Rebuilding - YouTube
The heads are interchangable and the rebuild pretty easy. I've been rebuilding vivis and vaping on cotton for about a month now. Works great. This is how I do it:
I use A-1 32 awg...
VG dries out the sinuses in my case. I also found vaping to be very useful at fighting a sinus infection. I used clove flavoring in my VG mix (I certainly wouldn't recommend inhaling it!) and by exhaling it through my nose, got rid of the infection much faster than I've ever experience before...
I second kiwivap's link to PBusardo's instructional on rebuilding vivis. That's the tutorial that got me started. You learn some good tips on building your own coils and that experience helped me a lot rebuilding RBAs later on.
Cotton wicking works great when you get it right. I use kanthal...
I'm a fan of the Ego's as well, (joyetech 900 mah passthoughs), but once the battery goes bad I'll have to buy a new unit. For this reason I bought a better unit so when the batts go bad, I replace and keep on vapin' :)
SS sounds to be the best in flavor/wicking as far as I can tell. I've never used it, nor shall I until I find a way to carbonize/oxidize it without having to take a torch to it. (Hence my cotton obsession) :)
Since we're talking about your health, you doctor should be the first person you see about it.
That said, here's what I've experienced. I'm a DIY fanatic. As such I started mixing my own liquids right from the start thanks to having family members who have been vaping for years. I bought...
I've made a few wicks with pyrex and fused quartz glass with success. I used cotton wicking, not SS mesh. Vaped really great, but the pyrex started developing hairlines which is too dangerous and tedious to be viable in my opinion. The fused quartz is tougher, but what I have is a bit too thick...
I smoked about 20-30 cigs per day for 25 years. Tried patches but they didn't help me at all. Tried to quit cold turkey many times but failed. Chewed 4mg nicorette gum for 2 years but always had a craving for cigs. Started vaping 4 months ago and have no urges for cigarettes at all. Also the...
Some of my family members had been vaping for a few years, so thanks to their recomendations, I was able to get a decent lowcost components to start out and see if vaping was something I'd like to stick with:
2 Joyetech eGo/510 900mah passthroughs
2 Vision Vivi 1.6 ml clearomizers
I was...
My father vaped it straight out of the box and reported he was pleased with it, but later switched to cotton (we avoid silica wicks).
I've since contacted gotvapes and will know more tomorrow I suppose.Since I've only had a few of them they could just be from a "bad batch"... We'll see...
Same here on DIY. Since I'm not a chemist I only inhale my VG/nic fluid. I like the subtle sweetness of VG. I still enjoy a flavored vape now and then; I just don't inhale it. This may seem a bit extreme, but I'm one of those guys who only vape on cotton :)
There will always be risk in everything we do; going from 3000+ down to 4/5 ingredients at least narrows it down considerably in my opinion.
Not to stray too far off topic, but Alzheimers wasn't a problem until aluminium was brought into contact food products. Or has this been disproven...
I tried to like the stardust(CE5 V1 I think), but after ordering four and two of them leaking, I sort of gave up on 'em. Since I don't give a @#$% what ppl think of my fat PV in public, I'm trying to find something that works well and reliably. That's insane that you have those going so long...
