Thanks for the chuckle you guys :) the thread was one of the first that I read (took me about a week!) and I still enjoy coming back and seeing what's up in the cotton/bamboo/hemp wicking world :) I'm vaping #1/0 square-braid cotton wick wrapped with A-1 32awg 2.0 ID coils at 2.4 ohms on an...
Boss, I think you're just a bit too sharp and straight for this crowd ;) I find some validity to your opinion, as well as most of the other poster's comments.
I've only been vaping for about 4 months now, but watched family members throw away about a thousand dollars (at least) on the cheap...
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/modding-forum/284030-wick-materials-safe-vs-dangerous.html is a very long thread, but it has some interesting ideas and suggestions. Also see "Tomcatt's wick wiki" in my signature.
After vaping on my vivis for four days waiting on replacement RBAs I've come to the realization that I can no longer just vape on them. The SRT spoiled me. When I bought the replacement "R" I also bought two other AGA RBAs. I've only had them a few days. They vape great, but still don't quite...
Both my SRT (which I enlarged the holes to 2.1mm) and the one I purchased for my father(unmodded) have failed. I assumed mine was due to the enlarged holes, but the father's failed exactly as mine did. We think that heat weakened the polypropolene where the metal post meets the base of the top...
Update: The Hyper SRT II that I purchased for my father failed today. I assumed that enlarging the holes for wicks was the reason mine had failed. But after comparing our broken SRTs, we came to the conclusion that heat is was the issue. His separated in the same place as mine in even though he...
Well, just when my SRT was really "dialed in" and working great I broke it! Sigh. I was in a hurry and held the bottom base with the tank and attempted to twist the top plate off. Bad idea! MAKE SURE you turn the tank with the top plate! I separated the metal post from the top plate, which...
I get about 7-9ml off one charge of an 18650(2000ma) battery. 2.0 ohm coil/ set at 4.6 volts. Lasts me about 10-12 hours of continued vaping. (Provari) Once you get to know your PV, the clicking is not something you do often :)
If they fell apart, then they have been burned too much :( Can you roll cotton and slide it through the coil? It's not easy, but possible if you are very careful. Make sure the coil is right in the middle of the metal tube. Sorry I can't help you more with sourcing wire :(
The original wick I think is silica. Nichrome is also an alternative. I've always used A-1 for it's durability. Nichome is fine, just make sure you get the right resistance wire. I am not familiar with it, so I cannot assist you there.
wow, where to start.. Oh, I know. First you should have a look at the following video. PBusardo has made hundreds of vids and explains how to rewick/coil a vivi:
A PBusardo Tutorial - Vivi Nova Cleaning & Rebuilding - YouTube
To clear your confusion: The wick is silica not silicon.
You can...
Servus! Ich bin Ami und wohn im Kalifornien. Aufgepasst, Heir wird nur Englisch gesprochen; sonnst wird diese faden vermuehtlich geloescht! There is also a German thread, but no moderator for Deutschspraehige threads so English is a must. :) "Verdampfnochmal!" :)
Welcome to ECF! Just about every question you could ask about e-cigs can be found here. And, if not, then there's most likely someone who knows the answer :)
Provari vs. eVic. They are quite different animals in the PV world, are they not? eVic is so new, that unless you had the fortune of getting a prototype for testing (like a few lucky guys I know of in Germany) there's no fair way to just say "buy a provari". The eVic hasn't been around to even...
