    Book Thread??

I can't be the only reader here but I searched and didn't see a book thread. So, watcha readin'? I was amazed to find that I liked "The Hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins. I normally don't read young adult fiction (never read the Potter books, Twilight, etc.). People I trusted recommended this...

Newbie Q :: How to regulate how much nicotine I'm vaping

It has been a life-changer for me. I never thought I'd come this this far, this quick. It's funny, at work I vape with the smokers and one of my best friends instantly ordered an e pipe after seeing me. Another demanded that I provide her with the specs for the exact set-up I bought. We're...

Newbie Q :: How to regulate how much nicotine I'm vaping

This! When I was on analogs, nothing would stop me getting one - walking, freezing cold, spare-changing my purse - nothing! With vaping, not so much. :)

Newbie Q :: How to regulate how much nicotine I'm vaping

And that's fine. What's fine is whatever level of interest that makes you feel good. Some people want to stay vaping at a low level all the time, some want a maintenance dose of nic and behavior every so often, some want a cessation tool. It's all good.

Newbie Q :: How to regulate how much nicotine I'm vaping

Welcome! I'm new here myself. I've found that I vape a lot less than I smoked and I wasn't a big smoker really (a PAD). Two or three hits does it for me. That's the great thing about vaping. With an analog, you feel compelled to smoke the whole thing because you can't really just smoke half...

    Dealing With Negativity About Vaping

You do need her support. She just needs to understand your situation. How awful would it be if she failed to realize how important this is for you and your children? You need to sit her down and go through your logic here. She needs to get on board with you changing your health status...

    Why Did You QUIT

Because I knew the government and all it's related tentacles (such as the upcoming Health Care exchanges) would punish me and bleed me dry for smoking. Basically, every dime I paid on cig taxes was another dime that would be used against me personally one way or another.

Breakthrough Bleeding: change in estrogen levels?

Thanks! I love alternative medicine but people should be as suspicious about them as they should be about regular docs. Anybody can be running a mental script that's not true.

    Dear Non-Smoker,

Honestly, I think ex-smokers who go through the whole "will power" thing are just envious of people who don't. They believe we who do it some other way (or no way) need to be punished and feel as bad as they feel themselves. It's like a dry drunk. They aren't "drinking" but they're obsessed...

Breakthrough Bleeding: change in estrogen levels?

Usually women on hormonal birth control are taking a high enough dose to prevent ALL natural hormone responses - that's why it works. Your dosage probably needs to be changed. I'm all for naturopaths. I was born in a naturopathic hospital. The botanicals she mentioned might be chasteberry...

    hairloss??

If you have a B vitamin deficiency, it can. If you are healthy and not lacking in nutrition, it's just a waste of money, in my opinion. My mother developed thin, fine hair and I expect exactly the same thing will happen to me. This is why really cool wigs were invented.

Breakthrough Bleeding: change in estrogen levels?

Cigarettes were throwing your system "out of whack" whether you had bleeding or not. Getting off them can only improve your life. Your dosage of BC may need to be adjusted or it may be a natural thing due to age and your own hormones. Give zero nic a try!

    hairloss??

It's exactly the same for female hair loss (aside from the hair loss after pregnancy). Genetics is 90% of it.

    Weight gain, grrrrr

Probably true. Smoking tasty vapes has absolutely curbed some people's appetite for snacks.

    Weight gain, grrrrr

I'm hypothyroid and have been for many years. If you test low on thyroid and get treated, you're right back with "normal" people in terms of metabolism. For women, you're actually probably a little more normal considering the metabolism problems or perimenopause and menopause. All people...

    Weight gain, grrrrr

Eating healthy might not be enough - you probably need to eat fewer calories. If you think about it, an hour of exercising (something like moderate bike riding) only burns up about 400 calories but skipping a couple of 200 calories snacks AND riding for an hour will cause an 800 calorie deficit...

thinking of getting an e-cig and had a simple questiom

I'm new at this myself but I would say manual PVs absolutely do have an on/off switch. They will say manual or automatic (automatic means no need to hit a switch while vaping). I don't the answer to your second question but I'm guessing "no".

    Hello everyone

Welcome! I just joined myself and it's been a wonderful experience! Smokers and former smokers who vape really are a nice bunch.
