My girlfriend vsummer1 can explain it better but my take on it is that 'vela owners are allowed up to 3 spares off the same serial # so whenever you see an asterick by the number that means it was a spare, I believe. Not sure since I have never owned one new or scond-hand. RHP- RedhatPat
