I do as well and it seems my stash is running low. I always advise people to stock up on simple things that fail. Most know parts can be hard to find so when they can find them to buy a couple not a basket full. And while were at it try to replace the piece someone sent to you to replace theirs. -

I use alc. before joining. And yes I mean break. After finished I run the wire under a candle flame once or twice. -

I have been more successful at position 3 with 32 and 30. I do not overlap any more.End to end has been a better weld for me. Too many separations using overlaps. I also have 2-3mm wire showing. What works for you is the method to go with. -

My bet is he will. I have had the same thing with a spring being sent to me from upstate NY. Mine looked like a convour belt ripped it out. -
