Tootle Puffers, Part Three! (The Sequel of the Redux)

Excellent info, thanks. For that price, I couldn't help take a closer look, and noticed how similar the coil appeared. It looks like a good design, borrowed from Joytech, but like you mention, they skimped on the quality. Thanks

Tootle Puffers, Part Three! (The Sequel of the Redux)

That Skillet looks interesting. The coils look so close to the CLR coils. That might be hoping for too much. I did a few searches but couldn't find any info if CLRs would work in it. The charging / cust service thing is not a glowing report though.

eGo ONE tank series – CLR coil

My pleasure. Glad I could pass on something useful. I hoard the insulators whenever I can. I don't use the factory coils that come with the tanks, but I save them for the insulators. There was a guy at work that used an Ego One, and he would go the the local B&M when it was time for a change...

eGo ONE tank series – CLR coil

Yeah, I tried those on a whim, and they're too small. I'll find a use for them somewhere though!

eGo ONE tank series – CLR coil

You're correct that the insulators are the weakest link in the CLR scheme. I just use 30 Kanthal for my coils. 5 turns on a machine screw puts me right at 1.65 - 1.66 ohms. I'm tootle puffin too @Nanny22 9.5 watts and I'm happy. I know the Joytech site says you can dry burn the CLRs, and I have...

eGo ONE tank series – CLR coil

Good morning EgoManiacs! My Fasttech order of 5 Ego One Megas (V1) have arrived in town, and should be here today. That should be the last of my stock up orders. I know, I know, how many times has that been said..lol. I'll rephrase that. The last of my Ego / CLR orders. That will put me at 8...

    Are you done stocking up?

I chose a 20 year stock up plan when I decided not to let the politicians decide if I can vape, going forward. I'm 62 now, and doubt I'll be vaping when I'm 82, if I even make it that long. So, the 20 year plan left me plenty of margin for early mod failures and the like. I feel pretty good...

eGo ONE tank series – CLR coil

I found my sweet spot when I started winding my coils on a #6-32 machine screw. Five wraps of 30 Kanthal puts me in the 1.65 - 1.67 range every time. I know some don't like Kanthal, but it works fine for me. The machine screw gave me some consistency. My contact coils were always a crapshoot...

Wow! I made it one year without a cigarette!

To top it off, for me, it tastes sooo much better than cigs too! Physically, I feel so much better. Mentally, I don't even feel like I quit smoking, I feel like I enhanced it!

Wow! I made it one year without a cigarette!

Congrats! You deserve to toot your own horn a bit. That's a big accomplishment! 45 years of 1 - 2 packs a day for me, and I just passed my 1 year cig-free in July. I never thought in a million years I'd be able to quit smoking. I wasn't even really trying to quit, when I got my first vape set...

eGo ONE tank series – CLR coil

My stock up buying has slowed to a trickle lately, but had a lapse in control and pulled the trigger on 5 ego one megas (V1) at Fasttech. Sometimes this love affair with the CLRs gets the better of me.

eGo ONE tank series – CLR coil

Thanks for the welcome, Nanny! I'm a huge fan of the Trons & Ego One Megas. The CLRs sold me. I've been rebuilding the same CLR coil for 10 months..lol, using it in the same Tron-S tank the whole time. 5 turns of 30 kanthal, spaced (wound on a machine screw), and stuffed with rayon. 1.6 - 1.7...

eGo ONE tank series – CLR coil

If it's a CLR, I'd just rebuild it before using it, and wind the coil for the ohms you prefer. Then swap the center pins. Use the center pin from the old CL coil in place of the center pin on the .5 CLR coil. That should calm down the airflow. Hope that made sense. Edit: puf beat me to it!

    Are you done stocking up?

I'm really impressed with the Kayfil tool. What a great little gizmo. The flavor on the KFL+ V2 had started to fade, from it's usual spectacular, so I figured it was time for a burn & re-wick. It still had about a half full tank. I had just received a couple of Kayfil tools a few weeks ago, and...

    Are you done stocking up?

I was 'drafting' my rayon, and didn't realize it..lol. I found a video on youtube by doing a 'drafting out fibers' search and came up with a few videos. They showed the process perfectly. Yes, a few inches for wicking is a much smaller scale, but it's doing the same thing. It gets the fibers...

    Are you done stocking up?

They do, but it's not threaded. Everything is held together by friction / orings. $3.03 Kayfun Quartz Tank Kit - stainless steel + glass at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping I would have to say, might work for a desk vape, but definitely not pocket friendly.

    Are you done stocking up?

I think it's a matter of tank size. They all use the same basic design, but there is more room to fill, with the Tron & Mega, being 4 ml tanks. I think the 2200 mah kit came with 1.8 or 2.5 tanks. I picked up an ego One Mini kit, for my wife, when I was trying to convert her from smoking to...

    Are you done stocking up?

I've been using the same Tron-S version of this tank for 8 months, with the same CLR coil that I started out with. They are both still going strong. I've since accumulated 4 more Tron-S tanks, 3 ego One Megas (V1), and 9 packs of the CLR coils. I'm a big fan of the CLR coil. I know longevity is...
