    I agree with shellshock. You have to give at least 15 minutes for the wick to pull enough juice to the coil. The tank may be fine, or it may taste a little (or a lot) smoky, or at worst, you may have damaged the coil. There really isn't a way to tell without letting the wick begin to draw...
