Smoking Everywhere V. FDA Daily Docket Sheet Update--APPEAL's COURT ISSUES STAY

LOL! Well it seems people engaging in behaviors they enjoy really irritate the crapola out of those who would like to harass happy people into acceptable conformity. But humans are ever the industrious lot and when one route is blocked...another gets opened. ;)

Smoking Everywhere V. FDA Daily Docket Sheet Update--APPEAL's COURT ISSUES STAY

Hey Jerry, I think a ban was placed on corncob pipes for health reasons and carved bone pipes because some were made from tusks of animals. Next they may come for the pipes made by trees.:)

Smoking Everywhere V. FDA Daily Docket Sheet Update--APPEAL's COURT ISSUES STAY

I submit the historical aspect of how the FDA persued tobacco cigarettes as a drug delivery device could be used against the FDA in regards for the PV being classified as such. It won't apply to Judge Leon's ruling but it is an "argument". (for what it's worth) ADVERTISING, THE FDA, AND THE...

Smoking Everywhere V. FDA Daily Docket Sheet Update--APPEAL's COURT ISSUES STAY

It definitely opens possibilities since our government pockets well over 3/4 of the cost of a pack of ciggies. With the tax base so drained and in need of funds I doubt that tobacco will ever be banned. An argument can be made that PVs are drug delivery devices just like ciggies. :D

The drug delivery device argument is neither new or original: Jeffrey Wigand : Anatomy of a Cigarette What is a cigarette? "A cigarette is a scientifically designed drug delivery device that is intentionally engineered to deliver nicotine to the brain in seconds."

Vaping at work may be banned...

Unemployment benefits are much easier to get in this economic times. A lot depends on how long you've been there, what your performance was rated at, if you had any write-ups, etc. You actually have a case for unemployment if the company handbook does not specify using the PV is a smoking...

    Some interesting e-cigarette-forum polls

VocaleK, I must confess that FDA control of intake is troubling...as well as the probability the group will ban my current favorite flavors (Red Bull and Butterscotch). Remove both features and I just may end up in the pit of despair....them sue for psychological harm and dual-diagnosis...

    Some interesting e-cigarette-forum polls

As far as the nicotine goes, I simply enjoy using it, and it does seem to help me to focus on problematic situations with a bit more clarity, but...I have used nicotine for 36 years and therefore can hardly recall when I wasn't using it. Let me be very clear...I have not declared nicotine to...

    Some interesting e-cigarette-forum polls

Hi VocaleK, another great thread with interesting poll results...Thank You for gathering them. :) But as you know, I have an issue with the portrayal of e-cig/PV/smoking alternative users as nicotine dependent individuals who are self medicating or want the "benefits" from nicotine. I do not...

Help: Carts that won't give up their gold

I had the same problem with using my Janty Stick. If I blow thru the mouth end I can blow the eliquid from the end of the cart to the wick. That lasts a few more good pulls. If I draw too fast on the JS I'll dry out the top of the cart take longer slow puffs. Also you can try the short draw...

Smoking decline has 'hit a wall'

It depends what statistics one uses. 300 million people in America but approximately 75% are adults. Thus roughly, 225 million times 20% equals roughly 45 million smokers. Teenagers are accounted for via different school surveys and have their own database. In 1993 the population was 260...

Smoking decline has 'hit a wall'

Let's face it...we smokers who jumped on the PV bandwagon are demonstrating the same behavior we exercised when we began smoking. It's a perceived less risk product but not a NO Risk one. Same choice, same behavior. We didn't get our PVs from the Doc's office. Just my opinion...:) But I agree...

Smoking Everywhere V. FDA Daily Docket Sheet Update--APPEAL's COURT ISSUES STAY

VocaleK wrote" "Sorry. I'm not trying to be sarcastic here. I am trying to make a point. You seem to be either calling us liars or trivializing the agony some of us go through when we abstain from nioctine." I apologize if your perception of my words were equated to discrimination, that was...

I think we differ on the interpretation of the word "serious". The quality of life issues you raise can also be described as psychological symptoms. Rating scales for quality of life issues using "serious" terminology is reserved for pervasive, chronic, and disabling disorders...by definition...

Respectfully, I must disagree. The nicotine addiction mantra with all the "withdrawal" aspects may serve to aid the cause via protection with the Americans with Disabilities Act but...I suspect that some symptoms are part of a self-fulfilling prophecy. Example: A newbie checks the symptoms of...
