    Just make sure it's saturated. Wet on the outside won't help after a few seconds. If it takes a minute or two to fully load, that's all. Mine taste funny for a few minutes - skin oils on the cotton burning off - but that's all.

    Thanks, I just ordered the insulator from FDV. This is the HCigar clone; only $14. I do have a recessed magnetic switch mod, the Steamboat apparently is a Tugboat clone. But there's something fishy, the switch gets real hot. It's just a backup unit (for times like...now!)

Just last night I got around to putting in the magnetic switch; found out that there was supposed to be a pin in the side of the switch (the circular groove) that was missing so I cut down a broken drill bit that happened...

    Makes sense, my favored vaping technique is long, slow, shallow inhales and exhales. Very calming. And with a good vape I'll sit for ages just puffing away, until my head is spinning and my mod is too hot to handle.

    The Pico is my daily driver; as I use an 18mm Buddha Mini tank the size obviously isn't an issue (and I can throw a standard RDA on at any time). I never updated the software and have had pretty much 0 problems using it for...gosh, maybe a year? How long has it been available?

    Small change, BIG difference

    The right mouthpiece does make a big difference. A smaller bore reduces airflow and condenses the vapor, increasing flavor. RDAs usually come with wide bore chuff caps but I'm using a KF4 tip on my new Hobo, which is delightful.

    Any other preferences? Single, dual or built in battery? Size or shape? TC? The Pico is popular. Small and compact, single 18650, 75W, TC capable but a limit of 22mm tanks. (the battery cap gets in the way)

    Well, sub-ohming with a wide mouthpiece I'll hit for about two-three seconds. With a narrower mouthpiece, four or five seconds. At over an ohm, restricted airflow, I'll puff long and slow, like a pipe. If the mod or battery has a cutoff timer, I'll usually hit it, so 8-10 seconds.

    I haven't craved a cigarette since January 2010. My wife still smokes, and sometimes hands me a lit .... to hold while she's doing something - so disgusting! I've even had dreams about cigarettes that revolted me.

    iJoye Steamboat, it's a Tugboat clone apparently. Lightweight, with a magnetic switch, I use it all the time whereas I never could stand using the Praxis I've had for years. I've got a grab bag of RDAs coming from ebay, but I've considered looking for a metal tank RTA since I always drop everything.

    Yeah, it's usually the "sugary" content, not the color of the juice, that causes the gunking. Heat up some regular sugar and see what happens - that's caramelization.
