I would think that the organics would have more impurities to give an off taste, I believe that plain old cotton balls are bleached with hydrogen peroxide which oxidizes away impurities. When peroxide breaks down, you get only oxygen and water. I have seen pictures of juice with silica fragments...
Now that we have become good at making PT2 coils, is it possible to maybe use a piece of silicon tubing to make a thick gasket to put on pt2 heads to use in place of the pt3/aerotank heads?
I have no Idea about the wick exposure, I am thinking of getting one of these, I just want to figure out if I can still rewind my own coils like I do with Protank 2. Here is what I have found about the new protanks. The Mega is about the same diameter as a kayfun.
No, I didn't put anything in for multiple coils. Assuming all the coils are the same, just divide the resistance by the number of coils. Example four 1 ohm coils: 1.0 / 4 = 0.25 ohms
I read the earlier Buffalo News article and it differed somewhat, NYT tends to spin the articles to the liberal side. If I know Roswell Park Cancer Institute, there will be reams of data.
Hi Mac,
That study comes from the oldest and most respected cancer research institute in the USA, here in Buffalo. After reading it, I am sticking with my protanks and limiting the power to 7 watts.
Always thought the protank 2s I use never tasted quite right. Just got in a pack of silicone insulators from LightningVapes and wow what a difference. I even dry burned the coil and still have a great clean taste.
I have been using tightly wound micro coils in my protank IIs with the aerotank bases and have always used cotton wick and cotton flavor wick on top. On a whim I left out the flavor wick and OMG the taste and vapor production improved tremendously. With the right amount of cotton I can vape it...
The metric calculator is in there, maybe you need to scroll to the right if you have a small screen.
if you want to use fractional values just type =5/64 into the yellow box
We in western NY have been lucky so far, the state failed to pass a 95% tax on ecigs. NYC is another story, they have a ban on vaping anywhere smoking is banned, the last law signed by Bloomberg before he left office. So far we are free to vape and there are vape shops popping up everywhere.
Check out: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tips-tricks/463771-protank-cotton-rebuild-way-i-do.html. This is for single coils, but lots of info. Also watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cIoH-mOXKsc
Just a hint here: I have Protank replacement heads that have a narrow slot that wont fit anything bigger that 1/16th, some of my older heads that came from MT3S have wide slots that fit 5/64 with no problem.
