    Approx 5 wraps around a 2.5 mm mandrel, this is assuming dual coil. I wouldn't use twisted wire in the derringer, it will tend to spit pretty wickedly. You will need to go to 10 wraps per coil if you are going to use twisted 28 awg. What sort of device are you mounting this on?
