My old school grand has the hex screw holding in the spring. I'm currently trying to install the new SO kit, but that damn screw won't budge. Has anyone drilled it out?
I use a single coil on my cyclone. 28ga, not sure on the wraps maybe 5-6 on a 5/64. Comes out at about .86ohms. I use ekowool and everything works great for a long time.
Here it is with a coat of (still wet) satin poly on it. I left it in the box overnight. I think it looks pretty good for a first time. Might re-do next weekend.
I was holding on to my HH.357's for a long time. They give great flavor and vapor on a Reo. The main thing that pushed me into RBA's was the price tag on those HH.357's. For the price of 2 I could get an RM2 and just rebuild my coils. I don't regret moving away from them. Love my RM2 and my Cyclone.
Have you ever thought about a Reo with an RBA on top? I've been using mine for the last three years with zero problems. Check out what there is to offer on the site. reosmods.com

The anodized finish is pretty tough, but with years of wear and tear it started to wear off in places. So far the silver vein has been a wonderful finish. No drops on hard surfaces yet, but it feels good in hand.
