    Yes, had the zen for about 3 months and used the insulator for 7 minutes... there is no need for it if you oxidize your coil/wick properly.

    Hi guys, I have been playing around with the 500 mesh and got about 9cm rolled tight (no light shining through when looking down the center and held against a lightbulb). However, wicking is really crappy, I can only get about 6 seconds of vapor (device is vertical) before the kanthal dries up...

    just my 2c: I find I can roll an oxidized wick tighter than I can roll a non-oxidized one. Usually I start unoxidized and do another round of rolling after oxidization and then finish it off with a final round of torching. I have a 9cm 500 mesh in my NGP right now and I could fit a LOT more....

    400 or 500 Mesh, around 5-6cm, rolled tight, without a hole in the middle. 3/4 or 4/5 wraps of 32awg kanthal (4/5 is cooler with less TH).
