Peter this is the resistivity of the wire in steam engine 0.00741. Just check yours. Where did u get it from? I'm sure there is something wrong with the resistivity.- Aal_

Well, according to my calculations that wire doesn't go increase more than 900 degrees per second, so should be OK. I still maintain the fact that length is the problem especially with the small chamber. If you space only the middle of the coil (it will look like 2 coils next to each other...- Aal_

This guy knows what he's talking about. I want to add that it is normal that the center dries out first not only because it heats in the middle more, but also the nature of wicking is from the edges to the middle. For example in a vertical coil with no liquid at the top, surely the top will dry...- Aal_
