Who is behind the "95% Safer"..?

In all fairness, I had not reviewed all the sub-links in Bill's old thread. I have now, though I haven't reviewed all the footnotes and possible sub-sub-links. The main basis seems to be the PHE paper where it is stated "best estimates show e-cigarettes are 95% less harmful." While most of...

Who is behind the "95% Safer"..?

I don't know what you are trying to get at here. A search of that document mentions "95%" only one time and it is not in relationship to e-cig safety. "In Britain in 2011, the most recent year for which data are accessible, 68% of male and 65% of female current smokers, respectively, reported...

Who is behind the "95% Safer"..?

It is funny how those who used to 'not like labels' are now trying to slap a lable on just about everything.

Who is behind the "95% Safer"..?

Yourself and others continue to erroneously interpret my thought that the '"95% Safer" figure is not scientifically supported and was created in a dubious manner. Many are attempting hang things on me that I didn't say. Nowhere have I said that e-cigs are not safer than cigarettes. A few have...

Okay...Scientific Literacy Quiz time... 1) How many steps are there in the Scientific Method? 2) How many times in a second does 60Hz Alternating Currnet (50Hz for those in England and perhaps elswhere in the world) change direction of flow of current? 3) Who was the well known...

Who is behind the "95% Safer"..?

While the figure is often offered as if it is a established fact, it is unsubstantiated by science.

Who is behind the "95% Safer"..?

I don't know how you can make such a bold statement in a seemingly factual manner. Many individuals have suffered various ill health effects from using e-cigs. Oh yes...add "IMO," and "YMMV" at the bottom which pretty well removes your post from the notion of any kind of fact.

That's funny. The seemingly 'full report' came to me at the following link when the 'DOT' and spaces are replaced with a . ...included footnotes and all. Shouldn't cost a thing. http://tobacco.cleartheair DOT org.hk/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/PHE-slagged.pdf

Reconfirmed or echoed hearsay? Show me the "95%" science, please. For those that are either think there is nothing noteworthy behind PHE or can't muster modest internet search skills as suggested in my OP... http://tobacco.cleartheair dot org.hk/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/PHE-slagged.pdf...

Form Wikipedia: "The agency was criticised by The Lancet for allegedly using weak evidence in a review of electronic cigarettes to endorse an estimate that e-cigarette use is 95% less hazardous than smoking. Lancet wrote "it is on this extraordinarily flimsy foundation that PHE based the major...

Who is behind the "95% Safer"..?

Public Health England, "PHE" is the soure of the 95% figure we've come to know and many may take as gospel. "The handling of evidence for its controversial report on e-cigarettes adds to questions about the credibility of the organisation’s advice, finds Jonathan Gornall." "The connection...

My electronics understanding is a little fuzzy, but I think a device beings charged limits the current draw by it's nature. While the 'current available' might be 2 amps, the unit shouldn't draw more than it is capable of...the device being chareged being the limiting matter. Micro USB...
