Yes of course the grand is the real McCoy . There will always be grand people . I will probably make some of these p 67s with the button on the top as well down the road
I think what has happened is your positive contact is pitted from all the misfiring and your batteries . What you need is a new positive contact , Also you should take some 3000 grit sandpaper and very lightly clean up the tops of your batteries with the sand paper .

That just means you haven't dialed in the perfect coil once you do you wont notice the drop and feel the need to change your battery . I run my batteries down to 3.5 at times and don't notice
The safest way to eliminate the minimal voltage drop from the spring would be to solder the spring were it is riveted together .You would gain back that almost unnoticeable drop and retain the safety of the spring . I will never make a mod without a spring its not worth the risk .
