    As long as the resistance is locked (at room temperature) it is fine. The resistance jumping while firing is just a real-time read of the ohms because the evic vtc mini has dynamic resistance (real-time reading of resistance)

    Uh...do you know what kind of 0.5 coil it is? Like...the kinds for temp control would be NI, TI, SS, and/or even ceramic. That 0.5 coil sounds like kanthal and should be used with wattage.
