    Courtesy is not a tangible thing though... it means something different to each person, it is difficult to define it in terms of specifics. I do not want laws to be based on 'courtesy'. There is little of real substance there and way too much potential for agenda-driving.

    Big, big difference in this example; your friend is justified in speaking & in making personal requests... that is much different than banning cinnamon in all public places, all the time though.

    We are making a mistake by mixing the tax/regulation issue with the vaping indoors one - people who don't vape will often be unfavorable to the idea of high taxes or excess regulation of industry, but nobody who doesn't vape will support public indoor usage.

    That's a bit extreme, to say she should never leave the house, but whatever condition she has is very rare and the world cannot be expected to bend over backwards because of it - I bet she didn't ask walmart to to stop carrying cinnamon candles.
