it's just a stock BFX stock lid but I modify the hose attachment point a little bit. basically I use a drilled through allen head bolt and screw it into the hose from below the cap making it unpulloutable :)
yeah that's more of my issue with delrin other than actually worrying about the white getting dirty... delrin is pretty soft, will nick scratch and even gouge easily, hell I can even dig my fingernail into it if I really try. I'm playing with delrin but it's really like no comparison to ultem...
delrin has similar properties in some ways to teflon, meaning nothing really sticks to it including anything that would make it look dirty so getting dirty shouldn't really be so much of an issue I think
adam I haven't really been doing any pictures for you yet cause truth is these woods just...
mac if the white ever got to the point of actually needing magic eraser to clean it then that would just make rays opinion very much correct, I wouldn't want to have to keep cleaning it like that just to keep it looking white. if it gets dirty looking like that with normal use then I too would...
wow man good for you for quiting. I have some mixed feelings about the amber or yellow as you call it. as a salesman here now I like it primarily because so many other people like it :p
actually I kinda like it in small doses, for my own use I like it as a trim such as when I do a black ultem...
your opinion is valuable to me and I guess I never considered what you are saying... not so sure that the white would be susceptible to getting dirty looking, didn't so much even think of that tbh but I'm going to use one of these a bit and see... I'm kinda imaging that it will be impervious to...
rudy I'll get you some current photos later, it's in pieces right now for the chip install and face plate polish but here's from a few days ago... not quite porn yet but should be by this evening :p
sorry guys just hadda pop in here and say I completely agree with steamer about the whole anti lock brake thing, I remember back in the mid 80's testing one of the very first domestic cars with ABS on a snowy day on a downhill and while it was a bit unnerving feeling all the pulsations and...
ha, you got an easy way to bore a nice big bore flat bottomed hole almost 4" deep into an ultem body right near the edge that's not challenging, I'm all ears brother, I'll email you :p
I think I've seen a couple of duals but they're so wide you almost need two hands to hold them :) none of my suppliers carry red delrin and ultem is only available in Amber or black. Ultem is paintable though, but then a painted finish is probably not the most durable thing in the world
for hose I use 1/16" ID 3/16" OD silicone tubing which obviously has a 1/16" wall thickness. this hose looks a bit more beefy than something that only has a 1/32" wall thickness but it's much more durable and crush/kink resistant which makes a big difference for something like the O&A design and...
delrin would probably be doable, would probably be very much like doing a wood one actually. the issue of still needing a 1 1/4" thick piece to start with is still there though, industrial plastic suppliers don't really sell very small pieces but a 12" X 12" minimum piece should be attainable...
there are several reasons, one is because the material needs to be slightly over an inch thick meaning having to go to the next size raw material blank increasing the material cost by over 25%, but another even bigger one is my O&A design requires a fairly large 5/8" bore that goes from the...
