I'm still using silica on my A7, but it's vastly improved by laying a liiiitle bit of cotton ball over the top of the coil and down into the drip well (just tuck the ends between the posts and the air hole). Gunks up in a few days like cotton ball tends to do, but it's not threaded through the...
I just finally broke through the constant burnt taste I was getting on silica + kanthal in an A7 - just a liiiiittle bit of cotton over the top of the coil and it was perfect! So yeah, don't give up, they're well worth the effort when you get 'em working properly.
I really like my A7s! They're my first RBAs, and I like that there's plenty of room in there to work and that it holds a decent amount (8-10 drops) without leaking out in your pocket (unless you turn it upside down!). And they're a pretty cheap way to get in the RBA game.
Huh, I've never heard that about leaving clearos in sunlight, but if makes sense if it's a BPA thing - sunlight can cause BPA to leach out of plastics, especially the hard polycarbonate that Stardust- and T2-style clearos seem to be made out of. Nobody's really promoting their clearos as BPA...
I have that one now, and I really like it except for the fact that it's unregulated. If SI came out with a regulated version, that would be fantastic! With a T2 clearo it feels like a cigar in the hand, I can't wait to try it with the new X2-T3s. It's super tiny with a regular carto and a short...
Yeah, it's a real thing, diacetyl's bad stuff. It's not the only flavoring agent that's used in massive quantities in industrial food processing, but it's the only really bad red flag one that was relatively common in e-juice. It makes me feel a bit better about the unknown effects of inhaling...
Sounds similar to the first version of Kanger T2 mouthpieces, the metal bit with the threads separated too easily from the plastic mouthpiece. If this is anything like the old T2 issue, the easy fix is to glue the plastic and metal parts of the mouthpiece back together if they come undone.
This! That's the dealmaker or dealbreaker for me, with so many replaceable coil clearos on the market now I just can't justify buying one that I have to fully replace when the coil reaches the end of its life.
Sounds like it's pretty much the length of a CE3 with that one pointy black tip that comes one per pack of CE3s (aka the best tip ever, I love that thing on CE3s!).
So, Imagine, can you talk about the details of these now? I'm interested in what's in the holes leading to the coil, it doesn't look like the short wicks of a CE3 - is it polyfill? Something entirely different?
I've noticed that the center battery posts on the X2s don't push down as easily as those on the slim batteries, allowing you to get a bigger gap for airflow when you screw on a CE3, and it seems to make the CE3s vape much better on the X2 than on the slim. The gap's only a tiny, tiny bit bigger...
I've gone through a few stretches like this, I think my taste buds just get burnt out. If I vape some EcoPure Rich or similarly lightly-flavored juice for a few days things get back to normal, a strong menthol can do the trick, too.
Imagine - I was wondering, with these being bottom coil, do they keep the really airy draw and vape of a T2 or do they have a tighter draw and wetter vape like the CE3?
People are kinda loose with the use of the term "drip tip", in my opinion for it to be a drip tip you have to be able to easily drip juice down it onto an atomizer. Drip tips have wide mouths, which the comfort tips and, uh, whatever-they're-called tip that comes with the CE3s don't have.
If these have as much in common with T2s as they seem to, they're even easier to clean - no silicon ring to pull out, just unscrew and wash out. Also, I've had a T2 spit juice at me once, and it was user error. They're really solid, and hopefully these versions are even better.
It's that one smaller, pointier comfort tip that comes with the pack of CE3s, I really like those tips! I use the bigger comfort tips on the others in the pack, though.
