This kinda thing. Just covers the outer threads and it would come up to just above the bottom edge of a CE3. It just looks nicer than bare threads, and I like the look of the fully exposed CE3-style tank.
You can do that, yes, I just think it looks weird having half a transparent tube sticking out the cone. Cones are just an aesthetic thing to begin with, so a short one that looks good on CE3-style clearos would be right up my alley, especially if SI did them up in their X2 battery colors like...
Oh, along those lines, would SI be open to carrying some short X2 cones so that we can cover the outer X2 threads and still see the full juice level? I've seen short cones out there that look like they'd be perfect for CE3s, and these look to have similar dimensions.
Here's why I love mine, I can fit all of this:
1x 900 mah X2
2x 78mm manual batteries
3x T2 clearos (soon to be replaced with the SI bottom coil version)
1x X2 cone
at least 6 CE3s (only have 3 in there now)
Volt charger!
slim battery usb charging adapter
retractable MiniUSB cable...
That's the main thing I'm looking forward to with these, with top coils you have to tip it to wet the wicks constantly once you get down past a half tank.
Has there been any word yet on whether or not these will have replaceable coils sold separately?
I think this is a very good thing to make known, I just want to say that with T2s, you would really have to try hard to jam the post down anywhere near close enough to short - it gets very noticeably hard to screw on after it makes contact with the center post, from that point on you have to try...
Imagine, I have gotten all of my T2s from your sorta-sister company AltSmoke, and they are skirt threaded only and work great with the X2. The center post is a bit long, so they don't screw down all the way, but they work great and there is no threading on the center post. A #41 rubber o-ring...
A 350 mah X2 wouldn't stick out of my shirt pocket (and fall out when I bend down to pick something up!), it would be palmable, and I like T2 clearos (and I'm planning on switching to the new SI clearos if they're as good as they look, they seem very similar to T2s). Those are the main reasons...
What's the optimum coil resistance for an X2? I just got some ~2.5 ohm heads for my T2s, and they get a burnt taste even with juices that flow really well (SI RY4 and Ice Menthol) if I draw for a 3+ seconds, and if I draw for 5+ seconds I'll even get a burn on my SI CE3s with those juices. Not...
I've been fighting my tinkering urge for about a month now, but I'm pretty much guaranteed to start rebuilding my equipment soon. Problem is, with me, that's a rabbit hole that goes from rebuilding atomizers to modding my equipment to custom box mods and e-pipes veeery quickly and I'm not ready...
I haven't used an auto x2, but what carto/clearo/whatever are you using? Something like the T2, with a big airy draw might not let you get enough airflow through the switch, and I know 808-501 adapters are supposed to work poorly or not at all with autos, too.
Will the bottom coil bit be sold on its own? One of the things drawing me to T2's lately is the replaceable coil, I like that it's a money saver and that I'm not chucking a whole plastic tank in the garbage when the coil reaches the end of its life.
I'm more interested in the form factor than the battery life. I do see that the eGo mini style aren't regulated batteries, though, which I'll admit doesn't fit well with the SI line.
I've got pretty much the exact opposite question - would you ever consider offering something in the Mini eGo 350 mah size? That little thing looks fantastic. I love my cig-sized batteries when I'm on the go, but a mini eGo size with a clearo or a cone & CE3 combo would be perfectly pocketable.
