As I was just researching possible materials I came across this. It seems like it may be easier to cut and shape and may wick better.
Alumina crucibles, Alumina boats, fiber-free refractory, lab supplies, furnace repair kit
An aluminum oxide rod would work and is a type of ceramic. Why would you anodize it and would anodizing even hold up to the temp or would it be cost effective? I'm not sure if aluminum oxide can be anodized. It doesn't hurt to come up with ideas, but I doubt this would be feasible.
A friend sent me a few wicks, that arrived today. I noticed after I cut it down to the right length for my DID, it was quite thicker towards the top. I'm having no issues with it at all. I can actually see bubbles come from the wick while vaping on it. I have kept a close eye on the thread and I...
That's the problem I had with cartos. It get way too expensive. I know your a newb, but I suggest getting a re-buildable atty(RBA). It's not that difficult to do and it's extremely cheaper than cartos!

The ones that are premade are a different material, but are similar to the airstone I guess. I never tries the premade ones before. What I do know is that they both are some type of ceramic.
