    Water stone knife sharpeners are porous. They are meant to hold the water in them while sharpening a knife.

    It's all good. Using a water stone for knife sharpening is an awesome idea. Did you attempt to torch it yet to make sure it won't burn? EDIT: Also about the diamond water stones, be careful that they don't destroy your diamond wheel.

    un-oxidized wicks?

    I do you oxidized wicks with the drill bit or rolling paper method. I soon won't have to worry about such things, b/c I hope to have success with ceramic wicks. Ceramic doesn't oxidize or need to be since it doesn't conduct electricity.

    Just FYI, the real DID from Greece has a 3.5mm wick hole and you can get all SS, no brass and is sheaper than the Z-Atty.

    I also know that pre-casted ceramic wicks are being sold in a co-op as well. I heard another vendor will be selling those as well, but I know that the co-op will sell them for cheaper b/c no profit is being made except for the manufacturer of them.

    That is awesome! I will do that or use a grinding stone that comes w/ the rotary tool. I like how you use a drill as a wick lathe.
