    Mixing Juice

There are a lot of variables involved. Manufacturer of the flavoring. VG/PG ratio. Wattage/Voltage/Resistance. Surface area of the coil. And most importantly, what you like. I stick to 8% as a "general" rule, but some flavors need more, some less, and that 8% rule is what works for me...

    Nemesis Hot Negative Screw

Oh, hell yeah... didn't even think of the battery wrap. If the outer casing of your battery is worn or torn or anything, it can short out if the innards of the battery touch the sidewall of the battery chamber. Check that battery for any damage or wear, pronto.

    Nemesis Hot Negative Screw

Derp. Just read the post title... hey, I'm old and my eyes aren't so good... :P Looks like the Nemesis is a bottom switch? If so, and it's heating up near the negative end of the battery, I'd strip that switch apart and clean it. There's your short (probably). If the heat is right under the...

    Nemesis Hot Negative Screw

What kind of rig is this atomizer attached to? When you say 'negative pin', are you referring to the negative end of the batter? 'Cause the negative (body & threading) and positive (center post) on an atty are right next to each other. If it's getting hot at the negative end of the battery...

    Hello from me

Awesome! I used to make box mods myself (still have a ton of parts & could do it again). Don't we have the coolest hobby around?

    Nemesis Hot Negative Screw

Sounds to me like a short somewhere... the current is obviously moving (and creating the heat), just not where you want it to if it's not firing. Shorts are dangerous; be careful. I'd use something else until you figure it out. If this is the case, it could cause the effect you describe.

    which e-cig to buy?

Ask a hundred vapers this question and you'll get a hundred answers. The real answer is "whatever works for you"; everyone is different. That said, my best advice depends on how much you smoke now. If it's just a few cigs a day, like half a pack, a cig-a-like would probably be enough. If...

Long time vaper experiencing extremely irritating cough.

Ditto. It might be the base liquids, too. I started at 100% PG, and now I find it just too irritating. Currently, I vape all VG & have no problems... but I think I remember the feeling you're describing. I DIY my liquids now, which makes it really easy to experiment with different...

Wanting to venture into mech mods, but unsure about vents

If you're firing it at .3 ohms the day you get your first mechanical, you've got no business using a mechanical in the first place. Let me amend my previous statement by saying that before you go building sub-ohm atomizers, you should learn how they work. Did you start off with .3 ohm...

    coils

Exactly. Neither copper nor silver would work, precisely because they are such good conductors. Copper & silver are for the body & contacts of your ecig, where you want the power to flow freely... the coil needs to resist the current.

    Hi yall I'm new! help!

here it is... Ballistixx 1500mAh Starter Kit - Artisan Vapor Company Specs look pretty good. It's got an internal board, so be careful not to drop it. If you've only got the one battery, I'd highly suggest getting a second (or even a third)... there's nothing worse than making the 'switch'...

want to get started in diy ejuice

eCig Express has been my go-to for flavors, bottles, and mixing supplies since I started DIY'ing 4 1/2 years ago. The flavor selection is... ridiculous. 11 different manufacturers, including Flavourart. Never had a problem with them. All of the advice above is excellent. If you can do math...

Wanting to venture into mech mods, but unsure about vents

Let's see.... Air vents are extremely important... thus virtually all mods nowadays have them. Just in case, make friends with someone who owns or has access to a drill press :) Many RBA/RDA's have air holes that are woefully small. Again, friend with a drill press :) You don't have to...

    Newbie needs advice

Remember that your cartomizers can generally be refilled (that's something they don't usually tell you). Just don't vape them dry, as you'll scorch the filler. Not sure where to get liquid at a reasonable price in the UK. Totally Wicked E-Liquid has great flavors, but they're a little pricey...

    New battery for 510 cartomizers?

Well, the 510 isn't just a model, it's the most popular threading type. Virtually ALL mods are threaded for 510; some have options for other threading, but I think I've only seen one mod in my life that wasn't a 510 threaded device. Right now I'm using a Bolt; I get a good day out of one...

    LR atomizer?

2 ohms is LR. I have a few cartos that are rated as low as 1.7, but I really don't want to go any lower than that, for fear of frying them. Have you metered the battery? Sounds like you might have a lower output than 3.7 volts. If it meters ok, make sure the contacts are clean, and meter the...

    Got my E-cig

PG doesn't give off a lot of vapor, but lets the flavor through. VG puts off huge clouds, but mutes the flavor. It also makes it feel 'thicker', if you know what I mean. PG is a little harsh, VG is smooth but gums up your coils & shortens the working lifespan of attys/cartos. I personally...

    Got my E-cig

Not familiar with Kangar; Boge & Smoketek are the only ones I get, generally. They're probably standard resistance (3 ohms, give or take), but a good price. If I wasn't married to lower resistance (lol), I'd probably get some to try out. Those dual-coils also listed under cartomizers are very...

    Hi All

It takes some people longer than others... and some never totally give them up. I did however read a statement once that, statistically, if you smoke less than 5 cigarettes per day, you're within the margin of error to be considered a "non-smoker" for health considerations. Sounds like you'll...
