"Naval" brass is a simple alloy and is cheaper than other brass alloys.
It has more zinc so it resists Corrosion.
Its extremely common.
So common it has been used on boats for centuries.
Its not expensive, and most brass mods (Clones too) use this type of brass.

Nothing cost prohibitive at all.
