Yes - because it's 50W, so you're forced into using a battery that is safe at that power. The P3 is limited to 20W due to the ability to use an 18350. The single tube was the whole point of the Procyon. -

My ONLY P3 is the beta. I had it updated to the latest firmware. It's the same as a production P3 except for the end cap. If you get a beta, you'll want to get a proper P3 end cap as well (or possibly the new Procyon end cap). -

That part's the key - seems there's a short. I assume you've already closely inspected the P3 connector on the Radius to make sure there isn't any debris causing a short, but if you haven't, that's about the only thing I can think of you could try. -
