    i tend to do pg first then vg the nic (pg) and flavours (mostly pg) i inject in the center if i do vg first it tends to stick to the bottom of the measuring cup more making it a bit harder to mix the batch up in the cup i do batches from 50 to 200ml

    if its more of a burnt rubber than a burnt cotton taste: its possible to get a hot leg burning the washer between the positive pin and the body, if you take the coil out take out the positive pin and check, in the multi wire coils crossed wires ... can also be an issue

    general advice for new flavours; start low (+-5%) it's easyer to add more than to take out. as the liquid matures some flavours become a lot stronger some less, if you can make several test batches and test at different ages also when you diy it is easyer to have more base liquid to work with...

    idd from all ive read rayon is indeed a lot better wicking in tight conditions (trying to get a load but no luck so far i'll have to order it from the us) using the same cotton for to long could lead to the cotton getting dirty/blocked new cotton could be a bit tighter than you tought a seal...

    there actually is water some e-juices its even a standard ingredient for most juice calculators (but thats a bit beside the point) the best way i found is to soak the coil in alcohol (they sell 98% ok for human consumption here) blow it out/ dry a bit more but i rarely do this for liquid...
