It's been my experience that you start to lose more and more of the "Clapton magic" the thinner your core gets though, since the "magic" is really all about the surface area. -

I use a 2.1a wall adapters (from old tablets) with my UM10 and UM20 no problems, been using them since January. I think you might have the X Cube confused with the iJoy Asolo. There's no "fake tc" with Kanthal on the Smok, it needs nickel, titanium, stainless steel (or NiFe) for any sort of temp control. . -

Yeah, 50j is probably overkill for that coil. I only ran about 35-40J on a dual coil nickel builds with my Yihi mods, for example. And don't be afraid to raise the temp as much as 100F either. 420 is not some magic number, and it's usually too low for most folks, especially if you're using... -

I'm going to finish this last tank with the tri-coil, for a total of nearly 30ml ( yep, 30ml in one day!) and switch to one of the RBAs (probably the dual coil first, with titanium). It's a good coil, but I could stand something less thirsty and power hungry, and I like my temp control. :)- Croak
