    PDIB's Making MODs!

Yea... It's supposed to be 2 free beers with the tour. Turns out that that's not necessarily set in stone...

The correct response is... "I can spend the $ on this or hookers & blow... I'll let you choose..."

    PDIB's Making MODs!

Room has been made in the inbox. Also note that I said the battery thing only applies to metal mods (or mods with a metal interior). In the Dibi, it makes no difference at all. I actually run my batteries with the pos toward the button. It's just a better fit. ;)

    PDIB's Making MODs!

The only way the twins are going to be reunited is is we happen to be sitting in the same bar. Even then, it'll just be a visitation. I'm not quite ready to give up custody just yet. ;) Everything you said about the burl is dead on. I was blown away when I 1st saw it in real life. The marbling...

Well damn it man... I feel like we split up a set of twins. Mine is pics 8,9 & 10 on the 1st page. Looks like they were both cut from the same piece of burl. I salute you outstanding taste in Dibis! Well done sir. You're gunna love it!

Forget the neodymium magnet. The big ones are expensive, dangerous and you can't turn 'em off. May I suggest, as an alternative, a good, high power, electromagnet? Something like this perhaps... :D Edit... Come to think of it. Seanap works with high power systems. If you talk nice to him, I bet...

    PDIB's Making MODs!

Mr. Mundy wins! Exactly right sir. It boils down to "worst case scenarios"... (Note: this only applys to metal mods) With the pos end of the battery only touching the the (insulated) center pin of the mech, the "worst case scenario" is that the button gets stuck in the fire position or , in the...

    PDIB's Making MODs!

Measure the battery by itself. That'll give you the baseline of where the battery is at. Then measure the voltage of the pos & neg posts while firing the mod. The difference is the drop.

    PDIB's Making MODs!

Assuming that you didn't actually "break it"... Odds are that the brass post moved off the bottom cap or the copper leaf hanging from the top cap isn't touching... pdib addresses that scenario in this post...

Both are good. The Sony should be better... It has a better amp rating so it so it'll have less "sag" with the lower ohm coils.

    PDIB's Making MODs!

Those are both good links with great information. Sanding/polishing does remove the treated layer in that particular area. If the brass alloy contains lead, it will be exposed in the polished area. I 100% agree that an area that small, there is absolutely nothing to worry about. If you're...

    PDIB's Making MODs!

Yea... Considering the application, SS was kind on a no-brainier for for me. The chrome plating on both of my Provaris center pins has worn off. I now have to sand them on a fairly regular basis. It's a PITA. SS just makes more sense... Especially after having to deal with the maintenance &...

    PDIB's Making MODs!

Two things that probably need to be clarified... 1) All of the 510 connectors are brass (the outer part with the threading). They're either chrome plated or not. pdib isn't making these himself (at least not the 1st rounds that have come out so far). It's the center pin that is either brass or...
