Not sure about the orings on your tank but mine is firm. The self-lubricating is due to condensation of vapor from the air flow. -

That's because the vape band is rubbery. You can apply a bit of juice on the vape band to make it more slippery. -

The stock orings is thick enough to be unscrewed. I've been aligning the air flow to the coils in this method since the start and have not issues with any form of leaks. The tank also remains very firm. -

I'm using the v-deck oh the rdta for TC. No issues as long as the coils are spaced and resistance for each coil are the same. -
