    I can 'activate' a Dot from at least 30' if I raise my voice a bit. You can also communicate with a Dot using a smart phone. Just upload the Alexa app. Patty uses a Dot to reach me when I'm away from home; extremely handy. We have three Dots also: den, master BR and garage.
