Light batt scrapes I don't fret over. But once there is evidence of 'deeper' penetration, out dey (da batts) go! Now, to be absolutely safe, if the charger is your issue, get a new one. If it's a matter of 'handling', be more careful. My ol' Nitecore was not the most kind on my 18650s...- Iffy
