A Little Taste of what the FDA Sees from Public Reports

Most of those "incident reports" are ridiculous, full of misspellings, with little to no actual information provided... aside from claims of every symptom under the sun, with a causal relationship to vaporizer use immediately assumed, of course. One of em was from a guy claiming he used "E...

    Kanger Conundrum

Good RTA's should be expected to be better than the Toptank, (depending on your build, of course). Personally I think the SSOCC red rings are fine, while the nickel and especially the Claptons are better. Imo, the biggest flaw of the Toptank system is how high the juice flow holes are. You...

    Kanger Conundrum

It sure would be nice if Kanger would clearly mark all of their replacement coil units with the wire used. The SS on the outside of the new "standard" red o-ring SSOCC's have caused many people to think that it contains a stainless coil. At least the newer Kanger mods have a nichrome TC...

Mech Mod Blows up in Teen's Face !

You're not wrong, but propaganda is a powerful tool. It's much easier to pass new draconian regulations if they're ignorantly supported by a significant percentage of the masses .

well just chain smoked 4 cigs

Speaking from my experience; when you go back to stinkies after several months, (or more), of vaping exclusively, it's tough to get through the first few, but beware, cause it's much easier to switch back to analogs than you might expect and/or hope. You can quickly fall back into your old bad...

What's been your biggest disappointment from vape gear?

I agree that the newer 0.5 ohm clapton coils are gtg. Kanger's stuff has been hit or miss for me, but I like this particular coil, and the Toptanks are pretty decent. There's a lot of cool new stuff coming out now, though. I'm eager to try a tank using one of the new machined SS "slotted" coils.

Most expensive B&M prices you've seen?

^ Wow, and I thought my local vape shops were bad. The prices may be way too high, but they don't insult me or try to shame me into buying anything! That's ridiculous.

    Work setup

I'm pretty sure there's nearly zero risk of catastrophic battery failure, so long as you're using undamaged 18650's with a CDR and MCA of 20+ Amps. The whole "marry your batts and charge em together in an external charger for your Reuleaux" thing is just to maximize what you get from your...

well just chain smoked 4 cigs

When I let myself run out of coils and juice near the end of 2014, (mod was also dated and unsatisfying), and was also going through some major stress due to negative changes in my life, I went back to smoking.. and smoked over a year. However, I didn't just "give up" forever. I regret adding...

    Kangertech Nebox Advice

There are a number of batts that will work well for a single 18650 device like the NEBox. The most affordable suitable OEM batts are Samsung 25r's, (2500 mah). Other favored models include Sony VTC4's, (2100 mah), VTC5's, (2600 mah), Panasonic 30Q's, (3000 mah), LG HE2's, (2500 mah), and...

    Work setup

I'm sure it works fine. I'm just relating all the advice I've read on the Wisec DNA200 and RX200 regarding batteries, i.e. use 3 new ones of the same brand and model, (high quality goes without saying ;) ), use them only in that device, and always charge them together in a separate charger...

    Work setup

Based on everything I've read; I'd suggest getting a separate travel charger, to ensure your batts recharge at the same rate and maintain the best performance for the longest time possible. You can recharge batts in the RX200 through the USB port, but no one, (including Wismec), recommends it.

    Kanger SSOCC coils...

I've had no issues with leaking either. These are the first max VG juices I've tried, and since I seem to be prone to vapor's tongue, I'm thinking that at least 20% PG might be more to my liking. Thanks much for the responses and the link! :)

    Kanger SSOCC coils...

Thanks for the extensive response, Just Want To Quit. :) All of the coils that came with my Topbox Mini have 3 juice holes, so I guess they're the newer SSOCC's. At this point, I suspect the problems I've had with muted flavors have almost as much to do with the juice I'm using, (max VG, no...

Looking for a good non-rebuildable tank

How about the Bachelor Tank? You can cheaply buy replacement coils, (with wicks in place), for ~$3 per ten, or build your own. Seems like an affordable, well-built, single coil unit with a lot of features. ETA: looks like the OEM replacement coils, (and the ones that come with the tank), are...

    Kanger SSOCC coils...

So, what's the ECF consensus on these? I've had mixed results with the ones that came with my Kanger Topbox. The nickel 0.15 ohm, (device measures it at 0.2 ohms), one worked well on TC mode, (500 deg F), for about ~36 hrs, then the flavor became muted to the point I couldn't taste it, and...

Mech Mod Blows up in Teen's Face !

You're right, but unfortunately that's not the way things work these days. The Nanny State will try, and try, and try, until we've got nothing decent left. I'm not sure which adult you're referring to, in this case. Did the kid's dad buy the mod and give it to him?

Mech Mod Blows up in Teen's Face !

I'm not necessarily saying that they shouldn't be available, just that the ignorant use of these can actually cause the "exploding e-cigarette" scenarios that feed the anti-vape hype train, as it did in this case. When the "victim" is a minor, that lends more credence to the ANTZ propaganda...

Mech Mod Blows up in Teen's Face !

That's good to know, but is slightly shortening a mech mod worth the risk of catastrophic battery failure? I don't think so. Yes, I know that educated users can use them safely, but having "hybrid top caps" thrown into cheap Chinese kits that any random ignoramus can order online is a problem...
