This makes me nervous because there are only a couple of large companies that make glycerin, like Dow, and it's bottled with the labels of the stores selling it. In 1989 I took a contaminated vitamin that was sold in bulk and repackaged like this and it caused me to have a bad immune system and...
The above tutorial link isn't working. Your guide to VG and PG is excellent! :)
The only thing I would add is that only VG and PG with the USP Emblem is recommended. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-e-liquid/52669-pg-vg-labeling-purity-please-read.html
And this...
A lot of it has to do with what you're vaping it in. When I use a fillerless tank I have to lower my flavor % to around 5-8%. In a carto or dripping I go up to 15-18% on most flavors.
FA has a product but I've never tried it.

Nicotine free liquid designed to mimic the nicotine hit."
Yes, you would mix it 50/50...50% 0mg nic, 50% 48mg nic = 24mg. But unless your 48mg is flavored your flavor will be weak. If you bought both the 0mg nic and the 48mg nic with the same flavor it will be fine.
You shouldn't be working with 100mg nicotine, especially if you have to ask this question. It's very dangerous and too easy to make a mathematical error which could end you up in the hospital. Before attempting DIY be sure to read all the stickies on the main page, especially the ones on safety...
I definitely agree that you should start with Capella (sale buy 5 for $19.95 right now). It's the easiest and best flavoring out there IMO. I've been doing DIY for almost 2 years and I still use 48mg nicotine...for a few reasons. I can easily make 24mg and 12mg and it requires less PG and VG...
I've made some juice with very high %s of EM and didn't notice any difference in flavor. Lately I've been using a lot and like my sweet mixes even more.
Maybe this has already been addressed but the only thing I see that would make this inaccurate is the additional PG/VG needed for the higher nic strengths. Also shipping on my liter from MFS was only $5.95 not $7.49.
I ordered a liter of 48mg and with shipping it came to $61. Not bad. I like lower nicotine so I don't have to stock as much PG/VG and 48mg is easy to mix and end up with 12mg without having to measure.
I doubt any vendor is going to sell the exact flavorings they use or tell you which flavor manufacturers they are. Gourmet Vapers lists what flavors are in each of their mixes but I imagine it would still be hard to duplicate their juice. I've seen some vendors sell LorAnn because it's easy to...
Congratulations!!! I love hearing new DIYers posting that their first mixes were victories. Capella is the only way to go in the beginning. Even after almost 2 years I still use it 90% of the time because the flavors are so authentic and easy to work with.
