I guess my final thoughts on the Ares are that it is a well built tank and great for MTL'ers. With some work it can be made into a DTL, but I don't recommend people buy it to try that. The only real negatives on the tank are: 1) Why oh why did you choose phillips and flat head screws?? Hex heads... -

Nah, it was just a bad wick. I have it vaping like a champ now. I'm still new at wicking coils, so I get more of them wrong than right. I'm using Rayon in it now for it's faster wicking properties and actually got the tails thinned out enough for a change. :) I also don't vape at higher... -

Well, I got it wicked and vaping it. It's still a little too restricted to call it a MTL tank, but the only other machining I could do to it would be to drill out the shower cap completely. Not sure I want to do that. Must have used too much cotton for the high VG content. Getting some awful... -

For MTL the Ares really seems to be well designed. Very tight draw at it's lowest opening and still pretty darn tight wide open. -

The Ares seems to have a unique design in that aspect. The coil just sits in a "notch" and the juice well is the actual tank. Wicks hang down to the bottom of the tank. -

Well, yesterday I machined the Ares trying to make it more DTL friendly. I opened up all the air holes, widened the chimney and drilled out the center hole in the shower cap design. It seems to be more airy now, I'll post how it worked out after I get a chance to coil and wick it. -

Hi Tigg, I haven't bought any wire yet, just pre-wound coils. It's the wicking that's driving me crazy. I can't seem to get a wick going that tastes good. Tried rayon and it takes forever for me to lose the rayon taste and then it just tastes burnt, same with the organic Japanese cotton. I...- RayN
