I wouldn't say that 26650s never caught on. They are fairly popular among high end regulated mods, just not among cheaper mass-produced devices. I'd say the biggest issue between the chips comes down to whether you like escribe or not. Without escribe, the DNA200 is pretty limited in functionality. With escribe, the DNA200 offers some things the sx350j cannot do. -

Zinc alloy has certain advantages and disadvantages versus other alloys. It may not be your ideal material, but it's a suitable choice for mods. If though it's not what someone wants, there are high-end mods for about $400 and up using more expensive materials. -

Yep, I agree. Part of it is that I'm pretty happy with using either nickel wire or Kanthal. I played around with Titanium for a bit, then sort of lost interest in it and went back to what works well as it is. -
